I am the most non PC guy I know.

But the issue here is someone ANYONE for that matter attacking a conservative ICON like Scalia using leftest talking points.

Scalia was 100% correct.

Trump was 100% wrong to go after Scalia.

Will that keep me from voting for Trump? nope. But I will not sit idly by and let someone attack Scalia, especially someone trying to get my vote.

I challenge you to listen to Scalia’s audio of the discussion in question and tell me you didn’t cringe(I did and I love Scalia).. That was what upset Trump.. not that he disliked Scalia or thought he was a bad justice.. let’s get over it and move on

And this shines a light on why we can know that Trump isn't a Christian since the first step to becoming a Christian is repenting and asking God's forgiveness. He seems to believe that if he belongs to a particular denomination (it's a middle-of-the-road one, as he has proudly told us), it makes him a Christian. If I hung around a bowling alley on Sundays, it wouldn't make me a bowler. Attending a church doesn't make one a Christian. I can give him some slack on that since I was unaware of my spiritual condition before my salvation. I also belonged to a denomination which gave me a false sense of "spiritual safety." But then, I wasn't running for POTUS.

BTW, his use of the Bible as a prop in one of his rallies was extremely off-putting. Borrowing from my earlier analogy, I suppose I could pass myself off as a bowler if I showed up at a rally with a bowling ball and had a roomful of gullibles panting to believe my every utterance. Bowling balls aren't sacred. Scripture is.

He's a fake, a fraud, someone who will tickle itching ears to achieve his goal. And who knew there were so many itchy ears in America?

That is the most benign “attack” in the history of American politics. He did not even mention Trump by name in the quotes supplied. I would expect every candidate believes they are more qualified than the others to be POTUS.

Trump’s leftist-inspired tirade against Cruz was unwarranted. I understand why he did it - Iowa was slipping away. But it harms him far more than it helps. As I posted earlier, it was a tactical blunder in an otherwise strong campaign.

There is a difference between asking who might be more qualified at a private fundraiser, and calling someone a maniac on national television.

These two have had a cordial campaign thus far and both benefitted from this. At some point they will have to point out the differences between them to voters. This can be done tactfully, as there are plenty of people like myself who would prefer Cruz, but hold little animosity towards Trump at present, and appreciate his pushing the narrative in the right direction.

In the end, there can be only one. For the good of the country, may it be the very best, and ideally the most Conservative of the bunch.

I'm sorry it wasn't provided. He was referring to Trump and Carson. That is why he said both of them.

"Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now that's a question of strength, but it's also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them."

You think it was a benign "attack" but tell that to Senator Goldwater, may he rest in peace.

Was Cruz wrong for saying Trump could not be trusted with his finger on the nuclear button?

He didn't say that. Get your facts straight.

If you find a Trump supporter who supplies the direct quote let me know.

Famous "Daisy" Attack Ad from 1964 Presidential Election

That is how LBJ took out Goldwater. Can't you just hear the Hillary attack add against Trump with the recording of Ted Cruz saying Trump can't be trusted with our nuclear arsenal? That attack was not benign. It was leftist like fear mongering we have had to fight against for over fifty years and Ted Cruz went there first!

How do you interpret that quote. Cruz intentionally insinuated that Trump could not be trusted with his finger on the nuclear button. Do you need to parse the statement like a Clinton to find the wiggle room?

Here is the Audio:

I've been supporting Trump. Here's the quote from Cruz:

Mr. Cruz gave his assessment of the race, lumping Mr. Trump with another candidate whose supporters the Texas senator hopes to poach, Ben Carson.

“Both of them I like and respect,” said Mr. Cruz, according to an audio recording of his comments provided by one attendee. “I don’t believe either one of them is going to be our president.”

But he added, “You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, it’s given a seriousness to this race, that people are looking for: Who is prepared to be a commander in chief? Who understands the threats we face?”

He went on: “Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now that’s a question of strength, but it’s also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them.”

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/12/10/ted-cruz-questions-donald-trumps-judgment-to-be-president/

He didn't say Trump didn't have the judgment to be president. He said that questions of judgment regarding the nuclear button would be "challenging" for Trump and Carson. In essence, suggesting that voters would need to assess that, not that he has. It is not praising Trump, but neither is it anywhere near the type of anti-Trump statement that it was made out to be by those in the GOPe who are trying to start a food fight. And Trump overreacted with the "maniac" stuff. If Cruz couldn't get along with Jeff Sessions, that would be a problem. Not being able to get McConnell to do what he wants, not so much.

Smug Cruz - The Full Recording of Ted Cruz Comments About Donald Trump and Ben Carson…

A couple of short points )because the focus needs to be on his words* about this recording. Initially, when questioned Cruz denied the statement. Secondly, when questioned again by Megyn Kelly )last night* Cruz refused to take ownership of his words. This is a pattern, a long, historic, and very specific pattern. Pay close attention to his words.
He doesn't sound smug to me. He just sounds like a disingenuous calculating jerk. The Cruz campaign strategy; hug in public and stab them in the back in private, yet stupid enough to let it be recorded.

Increase Your Political Capital with a Friendly Apology to Ted Cruz and SCOTUS Justice Anthony Scalia at tonight's GOP Presidential Debate

Trump doesn't apologize. Apologizing is an admission that you were wrong and Trump is incapable of admitting he erred in any way.

Mr. Donald Trump, ALL great leaders (Washington, Churchill, Patton, Ted Cruz and yourself) MUST have the capacity of listen to "genuinely" good advice ...

Well that leaves Trump out.
