Donald Trump, the US presidential candidate, has lost a Supreme Court fight against an offshore wind farm project near his Scottish golf resort.
Scottish Government ministers approved proposals for an 11-turbine scheme off the Aberdeenshire coast in 2013.
Mr Trump, president of the Trump Organisation, claimed the wind farm will spoil the view from his luxury golf resort at the Menie Estate. He argued that ministers were wrong to give the project the green light.
The Supreme Court analysed the case at a hearing in London in October after the businessman had twice lost fights in Scottish courts.
A panel of justices has now ruled against Mr Trump in a ruling published on Wednesday and unanimously dismissed the appeal.

NIMBY alert
WTF? Taking after the Kennedys?
Wind farms suck.
It doesn’t hurt to try, and it at least delayed things.
Use gas not electric...Underground gas lines are an excellent alternative.
But, what about the environmental impact of those turbines? What about the birds?
They’re expendable, just like American citizens. It’s for the Greater Good.
NIMBY only really applies to those who push the wind farm crap off on others (ala Ted Kennedy when he was alive - wanted to waste taxpayer money on them but not where he and his property would be affected). I would fight one in my area....
Enviro-whacks don’t care about the birds. Did you know that wind farm companies actually hire biologist to catalog and count the carnage?
Every American should oppose these bogus, subsidized monstrosities. Good for Trump for fighting.
That is horrible.
Every so often, I see articles from some cat-hating envirowhackos who want to blame house cats for killing billions of birds every year. To read those cat-haters, you would think we have no birds left. But they never mention the windmill farms that do kill countless birds every year, and are not part of the natural cycle.
My cats have never killed birds. Or rats, snakes, lizards, or anything else. They are useless, in fact (but cute).
Too bad Cruz couldn’t argue for him.
Trump didn't exactly make a lot of friends in Scotland in building this golf course - particularly in his sustained campaign to evict a homeowner who happened to occupy an inconveniently situated plot of land.

Sell of the golf course and make another one somewhere else, its a big world. When the “elite” stop spending their money at the old course, things may turn out different.
the SCOTTISH Supreme Court
Another headline so misleading as to constitute Journalistic Malpractice.
Hardly misleading when the headline comes from a British newspaper. It would certainly have been misleading if the same newspaper had headlined a SCOTUS decision as ‘the Supreme Court’. And incidentally it’s not the ‘Scottish’ Supreme Court. It’s actually the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, which is supreme both in Scottish and English law.
Another headline so misleading as to constitute Journalistic Malpractice. It won't be long before some anti-Trump pinhead brings up Trump's loss at the Supreme Court.
I hate the damned things and they’re all over the place. I don’t blame anybody for opposing them - except, however, for the greenies that want them everywhere but where they live and vaction, i.e., the Kennedys and John Kerry-Munster.
