Cruz told Byron York in an interview that it wasn’t a poison pill and that he wanted the bill to pass.
Of course he did. What should he have said, "No, we are merely proposing these amendments in a cynical and non-serious maneuver to try to scuttle the bill."
That seems to me to be a very silly position to take.
