The plans of the next president are personal to the officers of the Pentagon, who are threatening to quit if The Donald becomes commander-in-chief.
Republican presidential candidate and business mogul Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to build up the U.S. military if elected president.
But it is not clear he will have the experienced commanders within the ranks to do it.
In the halls of the Pentagon, there is a different plan afoot for the Trump presidency. Here, officers are privately contemplating what they would do should Trump become their commander-in-chief. And more often than not, they proclaim they will leave.

So, this means the "commander" is probably in the O-3 to O-5 range. In the world of the Pentagon, this is lower middle management.
I come from this world, and I know of what I speak. You can't swing a dead cat in the Pentagon without hitting a dozen officers of this rank. They probably don't even rate a private office; they're most likely cube-dwellers in the Pentagon. That's not snark or disrespect; just the truth.
I think the journalist intentionally uses the word "commander" to imply "Chief of Naval Operations" or some such thing. It is deceptive.

What everyone’s missing is that, with these guys cleared out of the way, Trump would be free to hand-pick the right guys to fill their spots. He can do that easily: start with all the guys Obama got rid of; they must be good officers if Obama fired them.

Any professional officer, who would threaten to quit publicly based on who would win the Presidency has violated the rules of conduct and should be court martialed. Having ones personal opinions is one thing, espousing them in public is a violation of conduct and should not be in the Military Chain of Command.

When the leaders of our military becomes more concerned with political correctness such as catering to transsexuals and homosexuals in the ranks and less concerned with defending our nation, it is time for a purge.

This article is much to do about nothing. These perfumed princes supposedly speaking out in the Pentagon about this are now working for the worst president in our history. Any one of them that say they will retire if Trump is elected could certainly retire later if Trump as their CinC ordered them to do something that would force them to break their oath.
This piece is just more Trump bashing in my view.
So, these officers are committing acts that are punishable under the UCMJ.
