Why the hell would you want to import such people into a Western society?

One stupid reason is "cheap labor." Government and business collude to bring immigrants that work cheap. They never follow through on the math, however, and examine what the social and cultural ramifications will be.

Once they figure out how to get other people's money into their own pockets, they consider the equation "solved." All the soaring social program costs and lives lost and families broken for bringing their cultural and mortal enemies into their country to rob the citizenry of their life and livelihood never occurs to them.
