The U.S. Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, told NBC on Sunday that his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, was a “liar†for claiming that his proposal for a blanket prohibition of Muslim immigration to the United States boosts Islamic State’s propaganda and helps to alienate moderate Muslims.
On Saturday, Mrs Clinton suggested that the Islamic State is using Trump’s rhetoric to enlist fighters. The Clinton campaign has not commented on Trump’s statement.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin is warming up. Last Thursday, Vladimir Putin branded Donald Trump “flamboyant,†“talented,†and the “absolute leaderâ€; in turn, Donald Trump went on to call Vladimir Putin “a highly respected leader†with whom he could work together to boost trade and security ties, “defeating terrorism and restoring world peace…â€
