Christmas Eve descended into chaos Thursday when shots were fired between two groups at a north Charlotte mall and a responding off-duty police officer shot and killed one of the alleged gunmen.
Northlake Mall was jammed with last-minute holiday shoppers when an argument broke out between two groups involved in an ongoing dispute. At least two of the people involved pulled guns and opened fire, on the mall’s lower level near Dick’s Sporting Goods, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Witnesses say hundreds of panicked bystanders screamed and shoved to get away from the area. Others dove under tables at the nearby food court.
Police working at the mall responded. CMPD Chief Kerr Putney said witnesses told police that when off-duty officer Thomas Ferguson reached the scene, one of the gunmen turned and pointed his weapon at Ferguson.
The officer fired his service weapon, Putney said. Daquan Antonio Westbrook, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. At an evening news conference, Putney said police did not know if the teenager fired any shots at the officer.
Records indicate Westbrook had a lengthy criminal record involving guns, drugs and violence.

I can’t find anything on whether the trial happened on the attempted murder. Maybe because he was a juvenile.
Oh no. He was going back to school, aspiring rapper, good to his kids..........
But they ALWAYS say “child” and I bet that he was an “honor student” too and just home from college, no doubt....NOT !

You can hear someone say C’mon punk in the video right before he is shot.
He actually was an “aspiring rapper.” I read that his first album or at least cut was named Homicide. He apparently had also been suspected of doing more than rapping about homicide, and was just generally bad news.
Hi rapper name was Donkey Cartel. His friends are all up and down Twitter and Instagram telling people not to post the pictures of him hang banging and the one of him dead on the floor of the shoe store.
His brother is in hospital now recovering from being shot around Thanksgiving.
So why was the innocent little tyke out of prison ?

The upside is that it is likely that it didn't father too many children.

Does anyone know if Daquan was the shooter of the other people.Facebook posters are saying no.
GOOD! No doubt, he could have been OBozo`s son. Those pesky Amish, again!
That last one is definitely gonna hurt his street cred. Well, at least he wasn't daid on da flo of Lane Bryant.
