Even though Donald Trump had already warned that Bill Clinton's past indiscretions would be "fair game" in the presidential race, the ex-president seemed surprised to face the issue as he began to take a prominent role in his wife's campaign.
Asked by ABC News if his past should be "fair game," Bill stammered for several seconds about how "the Republicans have to decide who they want to nominate" before declaring, "I think there's always attempts to take the election away from the people."
In other words - no real answer.
At a New Hampshire rally, Hillary dismissed a heckler who asked about previous sexual-assault claims against Bill by saying the questioner was "rude."
With far larger issues out there - jobs, terrorism, etc. - we'd rather the race not be dominated by talk of Bill's, uh, love life.
Yet Hillary Clinton has made "women's issues" central to her campaign. "I can't think of anything more of an outsider than electing the first woman president," she has said.
But today those issues very much include things like sexual assault and harassment, and how institutions should deal with such cases - major topics on college campuses right now.
So a campaign surrogate who also happens to be a former president impeached over his lying about an affair with a female subordinate will inevitably be "fair game" for the campaign trail.
As will asking about how one partner enables the other's misbehavior.
Indeed, it's shocking that neither Clinton seemed ready for questions on this front. You'd almost think they'd spent the last 16 years in deep denial.

I don’t think Hillary will lose many votes by the
publishing of photos of Bill and his bimbos. I doubt she
will even lose many votes because she tolerates his
activities. The focus against Hillary should be her
duplicity in campaigning for the rights of all women
while having a history of viciously going after female
victims of Bill in order to save the Clinton’s political
viability.
I disagree. Young people voting in 2016 were too young to remember all that went on. Photos of new women which then brings up the old behavior and the fact that he’d be back in the WH again with Hillary, could have an effect.
Paula Jones and her 850k sex harassment settlement are much bigger deal than Lewinksky. BJ Clinton can get a way with affairs but sexual assault is a whole different ball of wax.
I pray that Shrill loses out in this election.
It’s their last chance and if they lose out partly to Bills past, can you imagine the rest of their lives? She’ll never let him forget it. She’ll beat him over the head with it til the day he dies.
Juanita Broaddrick, who was smeared and silenced by Hillary and crew after she came forward about Bill Clinton raping her, has been pretty quiet in recent years. She’s finally speaking out again, in her quiet way, on Twitter.

Why would you not explain to half the country that this candidate for the dem party, blamed BJ Clinton's adulterous affairs on the Republicans, time to hit back and hard!
It's not as if the Clintons would leave any Republican's scandal alone, if they weren't living in a glass house themselves.But the actual scandal of scandals is the fact that - even while Hillary was Secretary of State - two organizations of which Hillary was a principal accepted money from foreign governments. Unlike the classified information scandal, which Obama has control over, the foreign government money scandal is an open-and-shut case:
Hillary was, presumably, a principal in the Clinton Foundation, which received money from foreign governments. The question of proving that they got a quid pro quo for it is a red herring. The Constitution doesn't say, "you can accept donations for charitable purposes" - it says, "you can accept a donation if Congress approves of it." The Constitutions doesn't say, "honoraria for speeches are OK," The Constitution says, "you can accept payment (emolument) for services if Congress approves of it."

- No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
Congress never approved of any of the payments to the Clintons/the Clinton Foundation by foreign governments. Let alone each of them. And lest it be thought that the '09 confirmation of Hillary as SecState while Bill was soliciting money might cover that issue, any such implication might, in a stretch, get them past '10, tho I doubt it. But such could certainly not constitute a constitutional amendment, and the 112th Congress was not consulted, and did not consent to any honorarium or any donation after 2010.
And we are not talking about chump change - we are talking gigibuck class corruption.
You are right that Republicans should hold nothing back, but we do remember the 1990s, and because we do, we remember that with the Clintons, "If everything is a scandal then nothing is a scandal." So we have to look at the situation with discipline as well as - justifiable - outrage.
I wish the women would all get together to make a TV commercial AGAINST Hillary.
It would be a powerful message.
Did Bill Clinton have the IRS audit Paula Jones AND call her a floozie who wanted her 15 minutes of fame?
This after having the State Police bring Paula to his hotel room, telling the State Police to go away - then pulling down his pants and telling her to kiss it? After that, did he trash her? Call her trailer trash for refusing to be sexually asaulted?
How much did Hillary help inn trashing the Paula? What does the ‘objective journalist’ ABC’s George Stephonopolis know about this? Was the War Room involved in going after powerless citizens who refused to be abused? Did the War Room hire detectives? Was there a horrible abuse of power?
And is Hillary going to be arrested by the FBI?
I for one am thrilled that Hillary is going to be hit in the head with both Benghazi and Bill’s bent wiener.
I doubt whether the left can resurrect another 2008.
