The armed standoff this week at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in East Middle of Nowhere, Oregon, is a conundrum.
Militia members packing their favorite weapons have seized the headquarters and are demanding that the feds pretty much hand over the bird sanctuary to anyone who wants to use the land. But ranchers living nearby don't want them there. Birders don't want them there. Indians who claim the refuge as their ancestral land don't want them there.

Yeah like those white gunmen who stood with Washington during the Revolutionary War.
And the Panthers who marched through Dallas streets armed this past summer?
Eric Holder in the armed takeover of the ROTC building? Ayres and Dohrn in bombings and the killing of a cop? Angela Davis’ guns used in killing a judge?
There are no words. The media can’t call BlackLivesMatter terrorist even though their instructions lead to dead bodies. Muslim terrorism? What’s that?
Do the locals believe that the BLM should be their ilo Oregon? ilo their county government?

Its sad to read this left-wing trashing but I am even more saddened by those who call themselves ‘conservative’ who want to express sympathy for the beleaguered land owners of the West, but take no real or meaningful action.
They then move on to condemn this protest people because it doesn’t serve their interests of sucking people in to believe the Republicans will do something when the GOP track record is doing nothing but talk and propose legislation that’s symbolic and or going nowhere near being law.
You either forget or do not wish to face the main point which is: To the media, who are doing everything in their power to destroy the united States, The muslims, the BLM people, the Occupy Wall Streeters, the Black Panthers, the Weathermen are not terrorists. They are their allies and the instruments the media intends to use in the destruction of the United States. The media is the propaganda arm of the Left. The left has plainly stated over and over that they want us dead and fully intend to wipe us out. “Us” and “We” meaning Whites, Christians, and Conservatives. We like the Jews in the ‘30s Germany shrug off the threats. One day it will be too late.
I don’t support the fake patriot Bundy’s but they haven’t used any force yet, which is what the definition of terrorism the article cites required.
If the facility had been occupied when they took it over it would be a different story.
If they are terrorists, so to is former Attorney General Eric Holder (armed takeover of Columbia Univ buildings), George Soros (funding BLM violence), and the beloved of the left street people in Berkeley (People’s Park) . . . The list would go on and on.
Whether one is a terrorist depends on their ideological distance from the Dem/Rep uniparty government.
On one hand, the protest is entirely sensible: a long train of abuses which have not been addressed, culminating in crossing a final line (”oh, you served your sentence, but we think the sentence was illegally lenient so we’re going to incarcerate you again for even longer”), facing the admittedly-imperfect victims with a choice where revolt is preferable to compliance.
On the other hand, the revolt is attracting all kinds of nuts & weirdos holding various combinations of crazy alleged grievances alongside martyrdom complexes - not a good combination for solving sociopolitical ills.
Living 2300 miles away also puts a crimp in one’s interest in getting involved.
Yes, the GOP sucks in light of the issues involved. That’s part of why Trump is doing so well.
I support Cruz but I understand why Trump is attractive and Trump has the GOPe on the ropes, I’ll give him that.
But the mistake made in the past is to put all our eggs in one basket, Reagan in the 80’s or Newt in the 90’s or Trump or Cruz today.
The replacement of liberal, do nothing Republicans must take place at all levels of government, all offices.
The 236 Republicans who made the debt increasing, tax raising (new fees he pushed in 2013 budget deal), pension cuts for veterans (same deal) and the list goes on Paul Ryan should all go.
If liberal actions continue and are not reversed or changed, the need for something beyond politics (non violent actions preferred) becomes even more obvious.
I already am looking for a new, sober and sane third party to emerge in this country.
I likewise prefer Cruz, but will gladly settle for Trump.
One of Trump’s great undervalued features is the ability to legitimize saying what has been sociopolitically shameful (to wit: un-PC). He’s able to grab that bully pulpit and say “that’s great that we’d all like to spend lots of money on all these laudable causes - BUT WE DON’T HAVE THE MONEY” and proceed to not just veto the deficit-spending bills, but actually _as_administrator_ realize that whatever spending bill overrides his veto doesn’t mean he _must_ spend that much (going further into insane debt) but that he can nonetheless tell the bureaucracy under him to NOT spend more than the money they are ACTUALLY given. Nobody else is going to do that, likely not even Cruz.
Third party isn’t going to happen, as most voters make their choice long before the options are presented.
Trump is doing the only viable alternative to a third party: commandeer an existing party.

Try another look at things:\
A VERY AFFLUENT kid in Texas kills 4 people while driving drunk-—and he gets 10 years PROBATION.
2 land owner working ranchers serve the time they were told to serve & another judge throws them back into prison for a longer sentence.
There is alot wrong with this picture.
I see his potential as an individual, but the whole system including Congress needs overhaul or else they will be in the way.
