The shooter ADMITS he tried to murder the cop in the name of Islam yet it has nothing to do with him being Muslim?

I heard that and immediately after Kenney said that, the Police Chief said in interviews with the shooter, the shooter said he acted because of allegiance to Allah and the Islamic state and said he targeted police because they were not upholding Sharia law (or something like that).
