WASHINGTON (AP) -- Out of time to push a new legislative agenda, President Barack Obama will look past Congress and to the American people in his final State of the Union address, aiming to define his presidency and his legacy before others can do it for him.
For his seventh address, Obama plans to skips the traditional list of grand proposals, new policies and presidential appeals for new laws in favor of a broad overview of what he has accomplished since 2009 and what is undone in his final year in office. Aides said the president on Tuesday night will give his assessment of what the country looks like in 2016 and the direction he hopes it will take in the future.

That would be a good move on Trump’s part. Hope he has plans.
How do you define chaos? That seems to have been the main theme of the occupancy of the White Hut since January 2009.
Bizarre, inexplicable actions, few of any which would benefit the nation or its people, with glib assertions it was all for “your own good”.
By any objective measure, this is clearly a failed presidency. Jimmy Carter has a more lasting legacy (he forced the Shah of Iran from his throne, and recognized a “moral” leader who immediately made the Shah look benign in comparison), and all the time, was much more modest in boasting of his “achievements”.
Trump is speaking much earlier that night in Cedar Falls, Iowa...not sure of the time, but it's around 6 PM Eastern.

Why anyone who is a friend of the Constitution would attend or not walk out on him is unfathomable. Unless of course they are secretly for his thought process and goals.
I hear Trump is doing a town hall speech earlier in the day. The Donald should move the time to coincide with the SOTU and see how the Neilsons’ stack up.
When I think of Obama’s legacy, the first thing that comes to mind is “Epic Fail”.
Republicans and a few Democrats who care for America, should get up and leave when he starts his anti America BS.
My wife and are the weird couple in that we have had only one tv set and remote since our children grew up and left to be on their own for several decades.
The remote is usually on a table between us.
The only time we both dive/go for the remote is when Obozo is on tv. Who ever gets its first mutes it. If he is still on in about 30 seconds, the channel gets changed or tv is turned off.
We joke about injuring each other as we lunge for the remote and slamming against each other.
History will define the presidency..... as a failed attempt at Utopia
The speech in 2016 will be but a footnote, perhaps even to a footnote
