I don’t know about not taking the Lump Sum, didn’t Illinois basically say they can’t payout their Lotto winnings? Better get everything you can upfront, because there are no certainties down the road.

I’d take the lump sum too. If we go into hyperinflation which seems probable with the fiat currency we have, I’d rather have converted it into something tangible before something like that happens. However, I do understand his caution about losing it all in one place at one time. Diversity has always been a key to wise investing.

Because they prioritize state funding over lottery payouts. Powerball is a consortium of several states and winnings are paid out first before any goes to the states
