Trump: Nikki Haley weak on illegal immigration
CNN ^ | Eugene Scott

Donald Trump struck back at South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, after she criticized the Republican presidential front-runner in her State of the Union rebuttal, and added that she's not "off to a good start" if she wants to be considered for his running mate.

"She's very weak on illegal immigration," the billionaire businessman said on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday. "I feel very strongly about immigration. She doesn't."

In her response Tuesday, Haley called for a stop to "stopping illegal immigration," but also "welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion."

"No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country," she said.

She said Wednesday on CNN that she was addressing Trump when she made a comment on "the angriest voices" in the Republican Party in her response.

Haley has previously attacked Trump for proposing a temporary ban on admitting Muslim to the U.S.

But Trump said Haley had no problem with him when she needed his money.

"She certainly has no trouble asking me for campaign contributions," he said. "It's sort of interesting to hear her. If I weren't running, she'd probably be in my office asking for money."

This is what they still don’t realize. It will take a resounding defeat in the primaries to convince them.

Haley gave the tired, generic Rino response, in the usual snoozer method of putting viewers to sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzz

It was similar to a Jeb Bush rally:

This is a classic introvert versus extrovert set of responses. The extrovert (Trump) has a definitive plan of action that results can be measured against (stop letting them in until we fix the process). The introvert (Haley) wants to make sure that the feelings of those affected by the plan are taken primarily into consideration for the plan to be deemed successful.

Donald will never kiss and make up with her to make her VP.

This man holds a grudge.

He MIGHT kiss and make up with Cruz because he recognizes that Cruz is running for office against him. I said MIGHT.

But Haley??? No way.

More and more voters are going out looking around and saying, "WTH is going on? Am I in Karachi? Mumbai? Mexico City? Manila?" and they are getting scared. They won't vocalize it but they are feeling it. Hopefully that translates into votes.

Every local Facebook group I am part of has, at least, one post a week where (and it's all women in these groups) someone's house was robbed, or someone was home and they came knocking aggressively at the door to see if someone was home to rob, etc. to warn others to be prepared and vigilant. Again, they are scared. They are even saying they don't like not feeling safe in their own homes. Hopefully, that translates into votes.

but also "welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion."

Sounds real nice. But impossible to do when you are dealing with the so-called Syrian refugees.

Sort of like "comprehensive immigration reform"--another pretty sounding BS term.

This isn’t about not letting in immigrants or being “nativists”.

This is about the recognition that our enemies our using immigrants as a weapon against us, and we are ill-equipped to fight it.

When immigrants went through Ellis Island they were examined, and quarantined, and if something in their background indicated that they were a subversive, they were not let in. We have no such processes in place.

Quite possibly the first time a political party attacked it’s front runner in an election and called it the “rebuttal” to the opposition party speech. Pathetic!

Excellent point.

We are angry and rightly so. I’m sick of weak mild mannered Republicans saying that the anger won’t get them elected. I beg to differ. Not standing up to the illegals and all the rest of it will cause us to lose big.

Haley has been on every morning show dumping on Trump.

She used her state of the Union redress to audition for Rubio’s VP slot... PATHETIC!

Coulter Says ‘Trump Should Deport Nikki Haley’ After SOTU Response

By Caitlin MacNeal
Published January 13, 2016

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter was angered on Tuesday night by South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s Republican response to the State of the Union address, in which the governor criticized some conservative rhetoric about immigrants.

In a series of tweets, Coulter bashed Haley and suggested that Donald Trump deport the governor, who is the daughter of Indian immigrants.
