After months of playing nice, Cruz hits Trump. Then hits him again. And again.

He is a true conservative and that spells doom for the GOPe if conservatism wins. They felt the same fear in 80 and 84. Trump can be discounted as anomaly and they can conduct business as usual.

And there have been stories both ways but (source disclaimer) -

When people are angry, they select an angry person to yell for them and cause destruction and that is exactly what Trump is - destruction.

Very, very well said.

SUPER BUMP

Every self-described conservative on Free Republican should mull Marcella's words above with sincere self-searching. She is absolutely correct in identifying reasons right-headed people support such a wrong-headed candidate.

I pray they wake up in time to dump Trump and choose Cruz.

Despite all the fainting fits provided by our own FR peanut gallery—and honestly, I think that they have fun doing it, and so more power to them—these ‘attacks’ between the two of them really are nothing. Every time I read them, they come across as, “I really respect the guy, but I think that I would do the better job, and here’s why.”

I, too, think this is a bad move.

‘Actually the GOPe had rather have Trump than Cruz in the WH.’

Nikki Haley, prime rep of the GOPe, didn’t go after Cruz in her SOTU ‘rebuttal.’ She attacked Trump.

The GOPe singled out Trump, not Cruz, for attack

Your original statement was false. Subsequent stupid statements don’t make a false statement true.

Yes. Do you want to raise that issue? OK ...

Let’s look at what Trump did to protect himself - reorganization of assets and liabilities - as is allowed by federal and state bankruptcy laws ...

And contrast those actions with politicos willfully spending a nation into unsustainable debt - debt that is mathematically impossible to repay.

Let’s also compare motives: those of trying to revive a failing business with those of crating a national financial collapse - and doing so either for want of fiscal discipline, or else for reason of having an agenda to purposely destroy the nation ...

How do you wish to plead your case? I can hardly wait to cross swords!

I thought you raised the issue.

A lot of people think that Trump is a super-villain.

Yep - a lot of them have become seriously deranged and one gets the sense that they'd be trashing Reagan if he were to be on the ticket - all the while ignoring what the other side offers/promises if we lose the election.

‘A lot of people think that Trump is a super-villain.’

And the funny thing is, Trump’s stream-of-thought speeches are NOT the kind of controlled media-manipulation of a super-villain. It’s spontaneous, and anyone who knows anything about interrogation could tell you in a heartbeat that Trump has nothing to hide from We the People.

That makes him a rare treasure in politics.

Actually, Cruz might well be a stronger constitutionalist than Reagan, who got rolled with supreme court nominees.

But Trump has amazing qualities himself. So I’m happy if either of them becomes President.
