This is more of a Hail Mary pass, and if it connects, and Cruz wins Iowa, it will have been a good move.I think it's politically suicidal. He may win Iowa with it, but he'll lose more delegate-rich states as a result. It will be the political equivalent of a dead-cat bounce.

Except... without Iowa he is dead. With Iowa he can presumably come back from this kerfuffle (which it really is).
