Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz issued an apology to "millions of New Yorkers" at a campaign event Friday - but it's probably not the one they were looking for.
"I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians," Cruz told an audience in South Carolina.

Cruz has never been more than a distant second place just like all the others who made a brief run at Trump. He got a boost from Carson dropping and has been found wanting the more he gets vetted.
You are one of the 30 percent. I don’t dispute that he will get 30 percent.
As a Trump and or Cruz supporter, I see the dividers are not only active on a national level but quite successful here on FR too.

Disagree. It’s a couple weeks before the vote. Time for a good free for all. This is politics and not calligraphy. Let’s see who can stand the heat in the kitchen and win.
There IS a primary in N.Y. and he's lost those delegates, which REALLY counts.
New Yorkers have moved to many other states, which also hurts Ted in those states too; especially Florida.

The vast majority doesn’t give a rats rear about the subtle nuances of the political game. They want someone who will do the job and do it well and be a decent person as well.
One thing about campaigns is that over time, they tend to force the real person to come out for a looksee. If this is how Senator Cruz wants to be seen, then he’s welcome to it.

This is where his inexperience is telling. Intelligence is no substitute for being smart in multiple dimensions.

Trump sent voters to Cruz when he attacked Carson. Ted wasn’t accelerating his support. People were rotating as things developed.
I think it is too soon for Cruz. I also do not like his wife’s connection to Goldman Sachs. They own both parties. Though Ted is an outsider in some ways, he is not really an outsider.
It's more of a paint removal project.

Wow....when I heard that Ted had apologized to the people of New York I was really upset... NEVER APOLOGIZE..!! But now, after watching it, I can say that he absolutely hit the ball out of the park..!!

Everyone KNEW what Cruz meant, and almost everyone AGREES with him.
Apparently you don’t know what Cruz meant. This was an oblique planned jab on Trump: “He’s a NY Values Liberal blah blah blah.” Fine. This is big boy fight. But if Cruz can dish it out then he needs to be a big boy and take the return fire.
The polls that say Hilary is smoking Trump are every bit as good as the polls with Trump leading in the GOP primary vote. Deal with it.
Yup. Their candidate just shot himself in the foot, reloaded, and did it again. And they just saw it as some sort of gotcha.
Can't say I disagree with that, but you have to admit the zealotry is a little over the top here some times.
