Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz issued an apology to "millions of New Yorkers" at a campaign event Friday - but it's probably not the one they were looking for.
"I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians," Cruz told an audience in South Carolina.

Fan of both Trump and Cruz in that order.
The thing to avoid is bashing an entire state in a sound byte. Everyone who was born and raised in a certain state is usually very proud of where they came from. Most people of all political backgrounds are probably proud to have been born and raised in New York. The broad stroke of making ‘New York Values’ as a negative makes native New Yorkers upset.
Just as someone who would say ‘Florida Values’ or ‘Texas Values’ in a negative light would upset people who are from or live in the state that was insulted. No matter what Trumps response was, Cruz might want to recognize that Americans are both proud of their Country and State, in that order. Not all of the time, but some of the time. Cruz worded his insult in the wrong way. He attempted to link Trump to negative liberal New York Media by using the term ‘New York Values’. But the link did not resonate and in addition the Liberal New York media goes after Trump in a negative way day in and day out. Instead, New Yorkers felt he was directing his comments at the citizens of New York. Not the Democrat Liberal Media and liberal politicians, who are head quartered in New York which was his intention. But the other issue is both the Democrat Liberal Media and New York politicians are anti Trump, so again the argument will not resonate.
O have lots of fond memories growing up there. Adirondacks.
When I left, all the areas I used to enjoy as a kid had been closed to the public by the APA, the logging industry that supported several generations of my family had been destroyed by NY value liberals. The couple lumber related factories closed because of those NY value liberals.
Go to my home town on google Earth. Tupper Lake. Then look at what Detroit looks like. That town used to be leave it to beaver Americana.
Go look at the vaunted “NY values” and see what they did.

Cruz is 100% correct. We are ruled by liberal socialists from NYC & Albany who try to force their crappy arrogant ‘values’ on us. They literally HATE gun owners, they HATE Conservatives, they HATE freethinking independent, goodhearted and generous people.
These are the people, my people, that that scum-sucking POS, Cuomo, wants to leave the state if because we resist his ‘values’. Screw him, we're staying and we're not complying with their ignorant laws.
Cruz's apology was spot-on. It's NOT the average overtaxed and unrepresented folks he was referring to, it was the greedy power-grabbing corrupt politicians.
Go Ted. New Yorkers thank you for bringing our plight into the light.
Maybe Ted and Donald scripted this fight to get NY to back Trump? Ted couldn’t win NY anyway, but if he was helping NY lean Trump, then that would really be a nice EV pick up.....

My love for N.Y. is not for the present one, but the one that existed in my childhood and early adulthood and well before that...because of family history and the visible things they left and are still there. I guess, in a way, it is somewhat akin to the way that Southerners view the Confederate flag.

Trump better not pick a Rino as VP. That could be a deal breaker. If Trump were to pick a wishy washy Rino VP it would reveal his true colors that he will go along with the establishment.
So want a Trump Cruz ticket. Not sure who else is conservative enough to be Trumps running mate.
Again, if Trump chooses a RINO, even Nicki Haley, will think twice about voting for him. Trump needs to pick a SOLID CONSERVATIVE VP or he will turn off a lot of his support.

There is one reason I don’t care with what happens to that place. Because the NY I grew up in is gone. 20 years ago it was gone. There is nothing there to mourn. And liberals dominating NYC ensure it will never be back as long as they exist.
All the Cruz Trump animosity aside, Go to Google Earth and go from one end of town to the other/ Route 3. Everyone here should. Thats the reality of “NY values’ they are so indignant over. Then let them come back here and say it is something to be desired or protected.

Do you know that New York City is run by a communist mayor (and his red/afro family). The City Council is led by a Marxist and is full of other radicals who got elected by help from or threats from the quiet but spreading Marxist “Working Families Party” (WFP), part of the old ACORN/Democratic Alliance and the Weathermen/SDS remnants who moved to New York?
The governor of New York (not the former one who is in jail or was), will probably be indicted if the Republicans win the presidency, for political corruption while at HUD.
He just lost his top crook, er NY State Assembly leader Nathan? Silver, who is going to jail for life for political corruption. If the scandal spreads, it will bring down a good part of the NY Democrat Party and even some Republican crooks.
NY’s former Senator was Hillary Clinton, who has a Communist Party USA and members legacy trail from the 1969’s, as well as being a key friend of a major Castro asset in the U.S.

Crime is rising in NYC despite what some leftist posters elsewhere are claiming.
One well-placed source says that DeBlasio is renting out his Park Slope brownstone townhouse for a reported $4,000-6,000 a month while he craps up Gracie Mansion.
I have no objection to him renting out his place (assuming the story is true), but that’s a lot of money for a Marxist champion of the poor to get.
If he was a legit red, he’d let Syrian refugees and their goats live in his townhouse for free.
Any state/city that has Chuck Schumer, Lydia something or other, Gillibrand, Clinton, Nadler, and the late Soviet asset Bella Abzug as their congressional representatives says a lot about their political insanity.
I think Ted Cruz was on to something.
I don’t care if New York City and State have 49% great patriotic, God fearing citizens, they got beaten in the elections by the other 51% of commies, crooks, illegals, racists, ethnocentrics, and lowlifes.
The winners make the rules and right now the Marxists and Crooks are in charge. Cruz had it right. The Big Apple is a Rotten One.
PS: Many of the Police and Firemen who worked at (and died at the World Trade Center towers disaster) of Sept. 11, 2001, could not afford to live in Manhattan. They lived in Sandy Hook and other surrounding areas (until the hurricane and fires wiped out blocks of Sandy Hook a number of years ago).
I’ll bet a lot that DeBlasio’s supporters from the lower economic classes (rent controlled coops and ghettoes) could not afford to live in Manhattan, only they think that is just a natural state of affairs.
As George Orwell wrote in “Animal House”, “All pigs are created equally, but some pigs (i.e. communists/crooks) are created more equally”. (slightly paraphrased).
That will be a major problem for many current Trump supporters and conservatives.

Chortle now; you won’t later. The last couple of polls have Trump beating Hillary. When Trump is our Primary winner and presidential candidate, the polls will become exceedingly lopsided with Trump stomping all over Hillary in them. Hillary may not even be the candidate, as old Bernie is breathing down her neck. And old Joe is waiting in the wings if Hillary gets indicted. We live in interesting times.
