Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks on Sen. Ted Cruz, saying, “Everybody hates Ted.”
Appearing on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Monday, Trump said “it is true, he [Cruz] is very unpopular in Washington.”...
“I have to do what I have to do,” he said, referring to his attacks on Cruz. “You know, I want to make America great again. I have to get things done. When you have somebody that can’t get along with anybody in Washington, you’re not going to get deals done. I mean, you have to get deals done. We can’t always keep invoking executive orders like Obama does because he can’t get deals,” Trump argued....
“You know, here’s another guy who can’t get a deal done so he sits behind a desk signs an executive order, he gets sued and let’s see what happens in five years from now, OK? But that’s not the way do you it. You get Congress, you get them together, you get everybody together in a room, you cajole, you get along, you have dinner and you make deals. And you know everybody hates Ted. It’s a very tough thing. They all hate him for a lot of reasons, but they all hate him. And by the way he’s attacked me so when he attacks me as you know I’m a counter puncher,” Trump insisted....

This should be posted over and over. Trump’s words need to be thrown in his face and the face of FR Trumpbots.

You want to elect someone who can make deals with democrats, aka “reaching across the aisle”?
Donald Trump IS the Neener Neener Neener Candidate
They’ll just read their same scripted accusations and ignore anything that does not praide ‘The (new) One”
“Everybody” is liberal democrats and Rinos, we don’t want Ted to make deals with them. Is Donald saying these people will love him and he’ll make deals with them?
Trump is more like LBJ than anyone else that has ever served in the White House.
THIS. THIS SO MANY TIMES.
Look, I LOVE Trump’s attitude and I LOVE at least the words he says about immigration, but he has given absolutely no evidence whatsoever that any of it is genuine. If anything, his statements in the past give plenty of evidence to the contrary.
There is a colossal double standard where candidates like Cruz may have made one or two less than conservative statements in the past, whereas Trump has taken liberal stances hundreds of times, yet he gets a pass.
I love Trump’s style but don’t think he’s our guy. I’d love him as RNC chair or as a campaign manager, not as our candidate.
A counter puncher? NYET
Trump started this fight.
And he is fighting dirty.
How Trump makes his decisions.
Good comparison! He IS like LBJ. Talk about reaching across the aisle and getting deals done!
Donald Trump for Jr high student council, he is so cool the way he bullies people around.
So Trump is ‘going to get deals done’?
Whether we like then or not?
And f we oppose him, then we are gong to get trashed?
Ted fights - but has he won?? That is the point. Some people don’t seem to understand deal making at all. If you call the person you have to work with a liar it’s not very conducive to actually accomplishing anything.
I thought it was great that Ted called McConnell a liar - but I don’t think for a second it helped Ted develop a working relationship with him or anyone else. If there is no working relationship there will be nothing accomplished.

There was even a pathetic hit on Trump’s age. Cruz is punching way above his level. He already just about got KOed in a “youth and inexperience” moment when he doubled down on his NY values statement at the debate.
Both Cruz’s and Trump’s speeches are on the link on that thread. I watched both. Ted’s hit parts are sad, and the crowd response is weak compared to Trump’s. Ted hit on Trump for WAY longer than the 35 seconds Trump talked about Ted. Trump was direct and factual, Ted was not.
Sure, but some people on here still think Trump is a populist nationalists. His own words shows he is the exact opposite.
I once thought Trump Pres, Cruz VP; Trump appears to not care about anyone’s feelings. Not that I am touchy-feely, but there is a crassness that is alarming.
And, ...Deals???
Last I knew, GOPe made deals with Dems.
Dems don’t make deals with R’s.
If conservatives honor the constitution and are sticklers on principles, then what or whom does that make Trump since he likes, “deals”?
Let me guess, we are all supposed to stampede to Ted Cruz now right?
Don’t hold your breath.
