Ted Cruz should start considering a graceful exit strategy. The only thing is it’s awkward timing. I would suggest he secretly reach out to the Don and diffuse this in a way that’s favorable to both. VP is out, Cruz would be a bad pick and it will short shrift his career.

I would rather see him as Senate Majority leader and the go to Senator for Trumps Judicial nominees. I don’t know if the Don as POTUS has much pull on who’s the Senate Majority leader but he can include him in a shadow cabinet built from both the house and senate to help Trump negotiate the treacherous paths in Congress.

I am sorry, but Ted would have been the VP and now he won’t. In fact, he won’t get any position in the Trump Presidency. That ship sailed long ago.

Cruz would be an excellent AG or solicitor general of the US. I favor the latter because it sets him up very nicely to be on scotus. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s what TC wants. Crying shame. He would an exceptional scotus justice.
