KING: With troubled times like this for the average guy who may be foreclosing on his house, is this the time to think like a champion?
TRUMP: Well, this is a time to think like a champion. This is the best time to think like a champion. As an example, the house is being foreclosed. You go see your bank -- maybe you can make a deal, maybe you can't. But you can make a deal with a bank on another house, Larry, because -- and much better than the one you're living in. And they'll take back financing. They'll do any deal to get rid of their product.
They have houses by the thousands. And you go see that bank and you make a deal.
And this is a great time for a person to go out, make a deal, get a house bigger and better than the one you're living in now, except the bank will give you virtually 100 percent financing. They'll take back a mortgage and you'll be in better shape than you were before, if you know what you're doing.
And I discuss that very, very strongly, Larry, in the book.
KING: There are a lot of great topics. One of them is Barack Obama. In fact, the list at the back of the book on the topics, the number one is, "Barack Obama's election ushers in a different world."
How do you assess him?
TRUMP: Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. I mean, we really have lost a lot of reputation in the world. The previous administration was a total disaster, a total catastrophe.
And, you know, the world looks at us differently than they used to. And I think he's trying to restore our reputation within the world. And he was handed a pretty bad deck of cards. I mean, he was given a pretty tough situation.
And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they fund them or nationalize them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going.
Beyond that, I'm not so sure I agree with it, because I...I am worried, ultimately, about inflation. If you take this much money and keep pouring it into the economy, I worry about what's going to happen in two years with respect to not only interest rates, but inflation.
KING: Do you have any regrets about endorsing McCain?
TRUMP: No. I've known John for a long time. And I've never met our current president. And I look forward to doing it. But I've known John, really, for a long time. He's a good man. He's a quality man. So certainly I have no regrets about that.

Ahab Cincinatus' Wife obsessively paddles after her white whale. Episode #132
Reminds me of Truman.
He denied giving ‘em He** and said “I just tell the truth and they THINK it’s He**.”
I’m no fan of Harry except for his leadership at the end of WW II, but the quote is a golden classic!
Everyone needs to read every word or listen to every word that has come from DT starting with the MTP interview with Russert embracing New York values and denying Iowa values and everything since then or before.
Read carefully.
Listen carefully.
And prayerfully.
Before giving your precious vote.
Are you related to Glenn Beck? Or is that you Glenn?
As an old Freeper I recall Trump getting hammered on this forum for the King interview. I wonder if the same bashers in 2009 are the Trumpsters in 2016?
He was also talking about what a great job 0bama was doing and how much he liked him.
Then he saw which way the wind was blowing.
Put a pin in that. For the first fiscal "emergency" in the Trump administration.
God forbid.
Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009..three months before this interview. Obama had not become a train wreck yet!
Reminds me of the righteous Christian Brits who hated Winston Churchill because he smoked cigars, drank whiskey, and used occasional profanity.
My Daddy used to say, “only a fool never changes his mind”.
Whatever you have decided Trump is, no one can say he is a ‘fool’. ANY one of us would trade places with that ‘fool’!
So, Trump changed his mind on abortion...so did Reagan and George HW BUSH....for Bush it was several times! Any one of us who says we think the same way we did when we were younger is, excuse me...a LIAR or a damn fool.
Winston Churchill said:
“If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”
Now, Churchill wasn’t talking about being 20 or 40, but the difference between being young or mature, with EXPERIENCE under your belt.

if he has still faith in my sanity, he would do well to choose the later of the two on the same subject.
Trumps world is malleable
just wait a while and history is rewritten
I cannot figure out how a guy who spent the first 60 years of his life talking out of both sides of his mouth is now regarded as the authentic reliable voice for conservatives.
And Ronald Reagan is NOT an apt comparison, RR figured out what was going much more quickly than Trump has, worked tirelessly for conservatives for 20 years before becoming President, amassed a RECORD (something Trump does not have) as a strong conservative as 2-term Governor of California, and THEN got elected President.
Apples and Oranges.
I speak for many on FR who encourage you to spend your time searching out and posting POSITIVE stories about YOUR candidate rather than NEGATIVE stories about OTHER candidates. Negative posts are poisoning the air around here, especially since much of the dirt on any of the candidates only helps the Democrats.
Kindly stop helping the Democrats.
That's what people are looking for. Someone who marches to his OWN drum.
It's referred to as LEADERSHIP!
