Other people here have been browbeaten by the ‘conservative purity’ scolds and have selected the ‘electable’ candidate over the ‘pure’ one. In election after election.

Tell me when has it ever been worth it?

I swore I would never do it again, and I will keep that promise.

“The Donald’ only offers “the Trump Wall” and a set of cast-iron balls defending all of his changing positions and his personal slanders of any candidate in his way! He’s the Obi Wan Kenobi exerting mind control tricks over his followers! He is also the ultimate crony capitalist insider with a long history of liberal positions. Being kind, one can only label him as a moderate!

On the other hand, Ted Cruz is a true Conservative...always has been, always will be! And, he has been fighting hard to beat back the Liberal encroachment in government and in society. He has fought the establishment to his own detriment with many in his party...the GOPe. But, he has many partners in the Senate and in the House who have stood with him on key issues.

I thought there was a headline on here saying he came out for Jeb. That really does make more sense.

But it WAS telling that out of all the candidates, Dole said all of them were fine (presumably including Trump) EXCEPT FOR Ted Cruz.

I guess I’m just not a follower.

You don't have to be a follower. But you should appreciate the way Trump has managed to unite Americans that the Republicans haven't been able to do since 1992.

People are just pissed. They're not like us on FR, who are involved in the political process 24/7. They see Trump as someone who's going to kick ass and take names, and they're going to support that regardless of what he said in the past.

Politics make strange bed fellows and I see Trump slipping under the covers with the dems. He is just like any other leopard that cannot change their spots.

>>This is just pathetic from Cruz.<<

Why is it pathetic? The establishment prefers someone they can cut deals with to maintain the status quo. Cruz, with his ethanol pronouncement, has made it clear that he will stand on principle.

Trump, with his ethanol support, has made it clear that he’ll deal and to hell with conservative principles.

That doesn’t mean that Trump doesn’t have principles though. He just might not hold dear the principles his supporters expect. That apparently won’t stop them from supporting him, although I did notice they tended to avoid the ethanol thread in here recently.

I guess what I don’t get is why Trump supporters don’t understand that Cruz will be a much more reliable backer of the very ideas that Trump gets credit for supporting, i.e., taking on the powers that be and getting back to constitutional government again. Virtually everything Trump rails against, Cruz is against, with the obvious exception of Trump’s rants on women and minorities.

I do appreciate what Trump has brought to the primaries.

But lately he's been campaigning like a douche. Honestly I now hove no idea what he'd do as president - he never provides detail, just platitudes.

That and given his positions as he's articulated in the past I can only surmise what he'd do as president and I do not like it.

>>Trump’s plan is to get America working again...<<

Get America working again is not a plan; it’s a slogan. Big difference.

Yeah the establishment and Fox has been so good to Trump. The establishment is finally accepting their fate and it is not going to be Cruz.

Pray America wakes

It’ll be interesting if The Mouth of Manhattan. Wins how he deals with Lyin Ryan.

I’ll make a 100 dollar donation to FR bet that he
Will fold on increasing the Debt AND amnesty for the illegals?

Anyone?

He's a DOER. Trump is a roll-up the sleeves, old-fashioned, point A-point B person

And boy is that a unique talent in Washington DC where no one knows how to do anything. To change a lightbulb they call an electrician and then complain when he is an hour late, causing them to miss a critical staff planning meeting to brainstorm talking points for the upcoming staff semi-annual strategic offsite. When he charges transit time to get from his office two hours out thrugh a nightmare of traffic, on top of the repair price and a stupidity surcharge it really sends them through the roof, and they go to the office and spend the day - on the taxpayers dime - comparing with their office mates horror stories about getting screwed by their contractors.

Since Trump doesnt take money from anyone, how exactly is the establishment coming over to him? This silly assertion is the result of deep desperation on the part of Cruz.
