Lena Dunham Privately Doubted Hillary Clinton for Discrediting Rape Accusers
Washington Free Beacon ^ | January 20, 2016 | Morgan Chalfant

Actress Lena Dunham, who has been aggressively campaigning for Hillary Clinton, privately doubted the Democratic presidential candidate for discrediting women who made sexual assault allegations against her husband, former President Bill Clinton, according to a report Wednesday.

Dunham, a fierce advocate for Planned Parenthood and other liberal causes, reportedly made the comments at a dinner party on New York’s Upper East Side months ago.

The New York Times reported:

She told the guests, at the Park Avenue apartment of Richard Plepler, the chief executive of HBO, that she was disturbed by how, in the 1990s, the Clintons and their allies discredited women who said they had had sexual encounters with or been sexually assaulted by former President Bill Clinton. The conversation, relayed by several people with knowledge of the discussion who would speak about it only anonymously, captures the deeper debate unfolding among liberal-leaning women about how to reconcile Mrs. Clinton's leadership on women's issues with her past involvement in her husband’s efforts to fend off accusations of sexual misconduct.

A spokesperson for Dunham described the account of her comments as a "total mischaracterization."

The emergence of Bill Clinton on the campaign trail has renewed scrutiny surrounding sexual assault allegations made against him by Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and others. Multiple women who accused Clinton of sexual harassment were reportedly targeted with attacks on their credibility by members of the Clinton inner circle, including Hillary Clinton herself.

Hillary Clinton said in September that sexual assault survivors have "the right to be believed," a comment that critics called hypocritical given her past.

Despite any concern, Dunham has wholeheartedly embraced Clinton in public, recently taking over the presidential candidate’s Instagram and campaigning for her in New Hampshire.

"While Hillary Clinton's anatomy is not the reason I'm voting for her, there's nothing that would send a stronger message to this country, and to the world at large than sending a competent, strong, essential woman to the highest office," Dunham said in Portsmouth earlier this month.

See how Trump completely destroyed Hillary on the phony women’s rights issue. Now all of the younger people are Googling Hillary from the 90s and finding out the truth.

Other than serving as a plow horse, what is the justification for Lena Dunham’s existence?

Why does anyone other than the Loony Left pay any attention to this twerp?

The same for Amy Schumer.

Actually, I was thinking of Schumer when I read this article.

Twenty years ago, it was common for comedians and others to point out the obvious: Women aren't as funny as men. Famous examples include John Belushi, Andy Kaufman and Christopher Hitchens. It just occurred to me as I typed that that all three of those men died young, but that's for another post.

About ten years ago, comedians used to get into a lot of trouble for saying that men are funnier than women, or that there aren't a lot of funny women. This is the comedy equivalent to saying "White men can't jump" or that blacks are better basketball players than whites. But the PC police couldn't have it. Off to the re-education camp with you!

Four years ago, Adam Carolla said "women aren't funny" and he hasn't been heard from since (other than on FOX News). Joseph Gordon-Levitt said the same thing, but he's too talented for anyone to ignore. And anyway, he walked it back.

Since that time, every two years -like clockwork -feminists present us with the newsest version of the fat, vulgar comedian. First it was Melissa McCarthy. Then it was Dunham. Schumer is now the flavor of the week. Why do we keep getting a new one? Because, like all women, these women aren't particularly funny. They have two shticks: Too much self-confidence for a fat ugly girl, and too many dirty jokes for a respectable lady. But once you get over the former, the latter gets old in a hurry.

We giggle because we are uncomfortable the first time we see Danny from "Full House" drop a few F-bombs and say the C-word. After that, the routine gets old pretty fast.

Her weight problem looks genetic so I wouldn’t be too hard on her looks, but if she makes herself out to be some kind of sex symbol, I’m going celibate ASAP.

One word of advice to her, the same as I told Comrade Bella Abzug many years ago, “Whales don’t wear bikinis”.

There were “funny” and smart women comedians in the past (I’m 70 so I remember them). Selma Diamond, Phyllis Diller, the young Rosie O’Donell, Rita Rudner, (Not Paula Poundstone) (these last three were part of HBO’s “Women of the Night” comedy series); Mom’s Mably, Lucille Ball, Gracy Allen, even Fanny Brice.

Today you get sex, vulgarity, and liberal stupidity from most women comedians. How low has a great trade become.

Actually, feminists in the entertainment media tried to do exactly that for her a couple of years ago. These are the same folks that told us in no uncertain terms that Chelsea Clinton and Sarah Jessica Parker were hot.

But even they couldn't make this particular pig fly.

I don't presume to speak for John Belushi (who knew a thing to two about comedy), but I don't disagree that there have been some very funny women. But the very idea that there are a lot more funny men, or that men, in general, are funnier than women sends a lot of feminists into hysterics.

I saw Rosanne Barr and Ellen DeGeneres each do stand-ups in the late 80's that were hysterical. They were even a bit vulgar to. But it wasn't vulgarity for vulgarity's sake, if you get my point.

What do we care at ALL?
Never liked Lena Dunham... she should join Hillary and Huma on an island of pleasure.
An island far, far, far, far away, preferably inhabited by cannibals.

Julie Roszinsky, token lib on Fox News, tonight told Hannity that while she was not happy with the way Hillary defended Bill’s misbehavior and was disgusted with Carvile’s slur about what you get when you drag a dollar bill through a swamp, she still saw no trouble in supporting Hillary because of her policies - well, let’s look at it this way - Hillary said that women who claimed they had been raped should be respected and believed - that, one could say, was her policy on the issue - yet she actively expressed contempt for those who accused Bill of assaulting them and worked to discredit them - so just how confident should ‘rats be in supporting her because of her policies when she betrays those policies herself - better look for a better and more consistent champion.....

Carol Burnett! I just don't see any female comedians worth listening to these days. Perhaps I am old fashioned, but I just don't think vulgar language and teenage boy jokes are funny, nor appropriate from women. None of the SNL crew is funny. Many have potty mouths so nasty its embarrassing.

Men like Gallagher, P&T, Carlin, Dennis Miller, even Eddie Murphy (who would have been as funny w/out cursing) were very creative in their jokes and routines. The new crowd just says something, adds a curse word, and calls it a joke. They think its funny, but I don't get it.
