King John of Austria was no saint. Many historians believe he had an illegitimate son. But when the Ottoman empire threatened to destroy Western Civilization, John provided the answer to the fervent prayers of millions of Christians.
Muslims had conquered most of Christendom: all of the Middle East, the Near East, North Africa, and much of Eastern and Mediterranean Europe. They amassed a giant navy, seeking to finally attack Rome. But they utterly failed.
Before the battle, King John of Austria led his outmanned troops in prayer, entrusting their fates to the mercy of Christ.
The result was one of the most decisive naval battles ever fought.
Thus it has always been.
The prayers of Western Europe struggling to reconquer their lands from the Moors were led by Charles Martel.
The prayers of American colonists yearning to found a nation conceived in liberty were led by George Washington.
The prayers of the allies resisting the nightmare of Nazi and Fascist totalitarians were led by Winston Churchill.
The prayers of Eastern Europeans suffering under the yoke of Communist oppression were led by Pope John Paul II and Ronald Reagan.
In such times, the political leaders weren't typically saints. But they did inspire the Christians they led to prayer.
FRiends, we need a miracle to take back our freedoms today. History is full of charlaitans who have masqueraded as holy folk to deceive people. But by the same token, God will not work great signs through men who do not honor him.
So I'm not saying we should always vote for the most conspicuously religious person. But if you have Christian hope that God will once again shed his grace upon America, please ask yourself this simple question:
Which candidate can credibly lead our nation in sincere prayer to restore our liberty?
Unless Jesus is running, probably not any of them.

I think it depends on what your prayers are.
Obama has so screwed things up this is a job for God. No offense to his Son, but we need The Big Guy.
Not through the current candidates.
Put men and women in Washington who have no connection to the profession, politics, where it's practitioners are good at two things, 1. lying, and 2. getting re-elected. Help the non-politicians, citizen-office holders put an end to all of the purchased influence of donors, lobbyists, and crony capitalists. May no one be eligible to hold office in Washington who has ever held public office before OR worked for a Wall Street bank or any crony capitalist corporation who is known to purchase and sell influence in Washington.
The Bible does say that before Jesus comes back the Trump shall resound.

Then you do not know that His Son is God in the flesh. Whom do you think will restore the earth after the last bowl judgment is poured out on the earth? It will be Jesus Himself who restores all things. His is the rock, cut out of the mountain w/o hands, that grows into a mountain that covers all the earth, who’s kingdom will have no end.
Normal people prayers or Democrats prayers?
The only one who is the answer to prayers is not a Presidential candidate. He holds an even higher position.
He also was prescient about Islam:

I'll happily vote for the one who makes a similar acknowledgement.

A combination of TERM LIMITS and ANONYMOUS POLITICAL DONATIONS would be a start in curing that ill. Get 'em out before they get entrenched. Make it difficult or impossible for them to sell influence due to not knowing who is buying. And all unspent campaign funds default to reducing the national debt.
Prayers to Whom?
None of them are. They are mortal men and none are perfect and none are the perfect candidate.
