Rasmussen Poll: Hope For Peaceful Race Relations Looks Bleaker Than Ever

resident Obama's inspiring message of hope and change seven years ago is lacking in the "hope" part - especially when it comes to the issue of racial tension. If the latest Rasmussen Reports survey is any indication, it seems that when Obama stepped into office, race in America took about 10 steps back.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 50% of American Adults now think race relations in this country are getting worse, up from 44% a year ago and 30% as recently as January 2014. Only 20% believe race relations are getting better, a new low that compares to 38% five years ago. Twenty-six percent (26%) say race relations are staying about the same. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

In case you missed that little tidbit in the middle, only 20 percent of those polled think race relations are improving - a new low.

Baltimore, Ferguson and New York are just a few cities that bring to mind the unnerving images of violent looting and protesting in the aftermath of cop shootings involving the deaths of young African-American males. While Obama obviously isn't to blame for the broken doors and the bloodshed, he has not exactly helped to quell the hateful rhetoric nor the violence. At the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Chicago last year, he noted the heroism of police, yet also insisted there was racial bias in the system.

Our communities need healing. Citizens of any color should not be fearful when they see a uniformed officer on their street - and vice versa. Divisive rhetoric, the above poll proves, is not going to fix the strained relationship.

Obama, Holder, etal want victory in a racial conflict. They dont want compromise or a truce.

That is in contrast to the conflict with terrorists in which they do want compromise and a truce.

The right is split. Half of us see race. We talk about Blacks do this and Whites do that. The other half of us see individuals. We say Sharpton does this and Sowell does that and Gore does this and McConnell does that. And we dont attribute the actions of the individual to their demographic group.

“Rasmussen Poll: Hope For Peaceful Race Relations Looks Bleaker Than Ever”

That’s too broad a generalization... It’s not relations among all races, the big problem is relations between Blacks and Whites. There are no big problems between Whites and Chinese.

I’ve come to the sad conviction that two groups of people...

1. with significantly different AVERAGE IQ’s (more than one standard deviation), and
2. members of the groups that are easily identified as belonging to one group or the other

...cannot peacefully coexist together.

The reasons for this are as follows.

- If you have one group that has a significantly lower IQ, what kind of jobs do you think they will end up having (assuming there is absolutely no discrimination)?

- In a similar vein, how do you think the kids of the lower IQ group will do in school?

- I imagine you would answer that lower IQ group will be disproportionately represented in the menial jobs, and the lower IQ students will be over-represented in the group that flunks out. There will also be some that will have high level, good paying jobs, but much fewer, as well as students who get As, but again much fewer.

- Given human nature, what do you think the consequences of such reality is going to be in society. How will the various groups react?

- Well, it is a human trait to identify with groups, and what you look like is definitely one of the things we strongly identify with. Racial features are foremost in that identification. So the people who identify through their looks with the low IQ group are going to feel very resentful of the fact that so many of his “brothers” occupy the low rung of the ladder, and they will want to know why. And if you tell them that it’s because on the average that group has lower IQ, that will only get them more incensed, especially if they have been told that all races are on the average equal.

There will also be plenty in the higher IQ group who, through guilt or ignorance or “fairness” will side with the grievances of the other group. Thus a coalition is formed against the remaining majority of the Higher IQ group to address those grievances.

The choice that this majority has is to either comply, by giving in to their demands, or to resist those demands. Resisting the demands will result in protests, riots and violence. To possibly avoid that, the majority caves, and so it institutes anti-discrimination laws, preferential treatments, diversity, multiculturalism and on and on.

This only exacerbates the problem, because the people getting preferential treatment will actually now perform even worse than before, because they know they can get away with it. On noticing this the majority gets even more incensed and prejudiced, escalating the problem even more, sooner or later ending up with more demands on the part of the lower IQ group and its allies.

And again the majority is at the proverbial fork in the road of having to decide to say enough is enough (which probably means war or separation of some kind) or to appease one more time.

And that’s why I say that two easily identifiable groups with significantly different AVERAGE IQ, CANNOT (as in logical certitude) coexist peacefully together. It’s very sad and tragic, but the reality of this is all around us.

I would also extend this rule as follows...

Two groups of people with diametrically opposed WORLD VIEWS (values, culture) cannot coexist peacefully together. That goes for islam and the west, communism and the west, naziism and the west, fascism and the west, etc. The basic values that clash in these cases is that we believe in freedom, those other groups don’t.

In both of these cases the solution is for the groups to live separately in self determination (separate jurisdictions), acknowledging the differences, but not fighting them.

I’d be happy to hear from anyone who would like to refute these assertions.

Affirmative action is the kicker for me; Ferguson/Baltimore just show the hopelessness of the situation (that after 50 years of freebies, unearned degrees and jobs, so many blacks still can’t cut it).

Nobody has any right to expect racial harmony as long as affirmative action is legal; I know us crackers are supposed to sit and take it, but that will never happen. People who aren’t included in the “preferred minority” groups have every reason to regard those that are as inferior; our own government has asserted this to be true, and we’re expected to co-exist in workspaces and neighborhoods to which they’ve only arrived via quotas.

“I’m not the same person I was before the OJ trial verdict in 1995, when 50% of my co-workers stood up at their desks and cheered.”

I used to have lunch with about a dozen co-workers at an academic institution. I was the only one that said the dominant African jury would never convict Simpson. They all scoffed at me because the evidence against that affie was overwhelming. I knew the African mentality all too well, even at that time. Too many Africans simply can’t live in a civilized world with laws for normal living.

Obama has done nothing to improve race relations. He has used every opportunity to stir the pot of racial hatred every opportunity he got.

My point is that we all go to school and work with folks of different races. How often is there an issue? Almost never.

The group that does have a problem are vocal.

I’m not even sure what “race relations” means nowadays.

Race relations are in a direct correlation with how many beat downs you can expect to get during a lifetime from a feral flash mob of yutes.

Sadly, the black folks I know, many I reconnected with from high school, have become heavily political and fall to the left of the political scale. Unfortunately, their basic political commentary is at best intolerable and insulting. I’ve cut off more than one friend because of the racial crap. I do not appreciate rubbing salt in racial wounds. I have what the left formerly outlawed as an interracial marriage myself with children who carry traits on both side, most noticeably the deep tan (my kin don’t tan.) When you lose me on racial harmony you lose big.

Because all we do is notice this stupid concept called “race.” Race is really just a term for subculture. It doesn’t matter what the person looks like. Obama at 10 would not have fit in, other than by looks, with a family on the rough side of any inner city in the USA. He had only been raised by whites and Indonesians.

To make America great again, we need to focus on character. Behavior. Decency and respect of all citizens. This means the cops. This means the thugs. This means everyone. People will have to tell their children to be decent and polite, and set an example. This is what is missing in society. Forget about race. Shun those who are not civil. Fire authorities who are not reasonably civil.

Just a heads-up, glock rocks.

Your Trump vote on today's caucus thread [01/26/2016] was invalid:

I do not wish to invalidate anyone's vote, but your creativity leads to others wanting to be creative. Be creative on other threads if you value your vote.

To Vote: pick from the candidates here, and type "Vote" and the "Name" as it appears here. You're vote should look just like one of these selections.

Vote Trump

You posted vote Trump.

The lower-case v is incorrect.

You can check with DoughtyOne, but I'm pretty sure it's invalid:

DoughtyOne wrote: If you have questions, FReep Mail me. DO NOT disqualify your vote by posting anything other than votes on the thread. No exceptions.

You can vote again, since you haven't really voted.
