Russia's Putin: I've Always Liked Communist and Socialist 'Ideas'
Newsweek ^ | 1/25/2016 | Damien Sharkov

Posted on 01/25/2016 12:55:11 PM PST by Chad_the_Impaler

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is and has always been fond of communist "ideas", while also comparing the Soviet code of conduct to the Holy Bible, independent news agency Interfax reported.

...

"I was not, as you know, a party member by necessity," he said. "I liked communist and socialist ideas very much and I like them still."

Oh, c'mon, why would he fear Trump. He knows that men who talk and talk so much are all talk and no action. And anyone wh has two talk himself up is riddled with insecurities. Do you really think Putin fears someone who gets in Tweet wars with Rosie O'Donnell? C'mon, Putin knows he's just a pansy. If you think Putin got over on Bush, how do you think it would be with Trump?

I have no idea how Putin feels about Cruz, but I doubt he is scared of him. But, Putin knows, if Trump were president, he can bully him. Trump would be a bonanza for the Russia.

Did Communism Fake Its Own Death in 1991?
American Thinker ^ | January 16, 2010 | Jason McNew

In a [] 1984 book [New Lies for Old], ex-KGB Major Anatoliy Golitsyn predicted the liberalization of the Soviet Bloc and claimed that it would be a strategic deception. ..."

"Golitsyn's argument was that beginning in about 1960, the Soviet Union embarked on a strategy of massive long-range strategic deception which would span several decades and result in the destruction of Western capitalism and the erection of a communist world government."

"Golitsyn published his second book, The Perestroika Deception, after the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991. This book contained further analysis of the liberalization, in addition to previously classified memoranda submitted by Golitsyn to the CIA. The two books must be read together to get a complete picture of Golitsyn's thesis."

I don’t know enough about Cruz to know if he is an alpha. Kind of a mixed signal, but he’s not one like Reagan. But Trump is definitely a pajama boy metrosexual wuss.

TRUMP: Vladimir Putin's praise is 'a great honor'

Business Insider ^ | December 17, 2015 | By Maxwell Tani

Republican US presidential front-runner Donald Trump is apparently "honored" that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the real-estate magnate a "flamboyant" and "very talented" man.

"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond," Trump said in a statement, according to Politico.

He continued: "I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect."

Although I don’t think he meant it quite the way it sounded, I wasn’t crazy about Bush either. I think with Bush it was more like him trying to put Putin on the spot (to behave in a trustworthy way). ie, “you’re a nice guy, you wouldn’t do anything to harm us, would you”? Why he thought he could do that with a guy like Putin, I have no idea.

Bush said that in 2001. Putin had just been installed and hadn’t secured his power yet. Oil was cheap, had been for over a decade, so Russia didn’t have money yet. Putin was surely behaving differently at that time.

Thanks. Putin is playing us for real fools now that he’s in a good enough position to make his move. They must be laughing their butts off at how incredibly easy they can manipulate minds over here. Just toss the fools a bone and they run off in some corner to chomp on it.

I've always liked the idea of warp drive, di-lithium crystals that give us unlimited energy and replicators that give us everything we want.

----------------

This Newsweek was taking Putin out of context. Putin said he admired the ideals of socialism and communism nut in reality they are not workable. That is an important distinction.

Here is a more fuller reporting from the Washington Post:

"Putin said he sincerely believed in Communist ideology when he served in the KGB, adding that while promises of a fair and just society in the Communist ideology resembled the Bible quite a lot but the reality was different. Our country did not look like the City of the Sun, envisaged by socialist utopians, he said."

A distinction without a difference. Putin is a communist in his heart.

-----------------------

I can't speak to what is in a person's heart. Putin clearly stated communism is a failed ideology and that being well intentioned does not mean it produces good results.
