Trump: I'll work with Democrats
The Hill ^ | 26 Jan 16 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 01/26/2016 9:45:02 AM PST by elhombrelibre

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who'd be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

"I think I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi — I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi," Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the House minority leader.

"Reid's going to be gone. I've always had a decent relationship with Reid," Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. "I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid."

Trump said he thought he'd get along with "just about everybody," including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was "close to ... in many in ways."

So you are admitting that RINOS, Obama, and the Democrats gave you your new toys? Then go to Democrat Underground and rejoice with the other mind-controlled.

I would suggest everybody get on Netflix and watch George C. Scott giving George S. Patton’s talk to his troops. The flamboyant, aggressive,no-holds barred attitude was the stock in trade for Patton to rally his troops mentally and spiritually to WIN. It was his ATTITUDE that he built into his troops instinct. Winning was his creed. Donald Trump admires Patton and the lessons show.

I know an old Patton soldier very well. He is 94 now but still sharp as a tack He has said “Patton would walk on water and we’d follow him right over the waves without getting our feet wet.”

Trump is building the fighting spirit in America. It has been dormant far too long. We’ve had enough.

Yes, those were the days before many "conservatives" decided they supported New York/Machiavelli values.

By the way, have you seen these youtube files?

Molly, most conservative lawyers seem to disagree with your notion of natural born citizenship. Most conservative lawyers maintain that the Constitution's language--i.e., the original intent--refers to a citizen from birth (like Goldwater or McCain, neither of whom were born in the United States), as opposed to someone who had to be naturalized.

I admit that there is a lot of smoke-blowing going on over this, but I think the majority interpretation of Cruz's eligibility is a whole lot safer than a Trump presidency.

once Trumps sticks that big shiv in your back.
......................................................
I don’t expect Trump to be perfect, He doesn’t destroy those who don’t attack him first. Perfection does not exist! Only fools chase that fallacy.
I expect Trump to build the wall, send the illegals home which means force the govt. to FOLLOW the LAW AS WRITTEN,end sanctuary cities, etc.,and bring jobs back to America through smart negotiations and threats of tariffs if that will make the deal work. I expect him to bring back our Military which has been decimated and make us strong again. That includes calling on the best, many of whom have been forced out of the Military to make room for climbers and queers, and first of all CHANGE the ROE that is killing our troops! COMMON SENSE IS LACKING SEVERELY in our Military leadership. Time to fix it.

The federal government has usurped powers the Constitution does not give it and used its usurped powers to beat citizens over the head with their own money. The Department of Education does not have any Constitutional backing. It should not exist! Education is in the hands of the states and locals according to the constitution. It is another in a long line of State’s Rights issues that must be solved if we are to get our country back. By the way, these State’s Rights issues are exactly what the New World Order is trying to control and destroy. Read Agenda 21. Listen to the U.N. Watch what is happening! Trump is against Common Core and might be able to destroy the entire dictatorship in Washington and destroy the Dept. of Ed. along with common Core.....which Jeb bush is FOR, by the way.

I don’t care how he does it, or whom he insults along the way. I expect Trump to do what he says and Make America Great Again by taking it back FOR WE the PEOPLE!

Well, I've long said, publicly, on FR that, although throughout the primaries I support Cruz, should Trump win the nomination, I would gladly cast my vote for him.

However, I don't expect Trump to do what he says. I certainly hope that he does so for the majority of what he's currently advocating. But I don't completely expect him to do so, based on various contradictory current and previous statements of advocacy that he's made on those very things.

The reason that I quoted in full your earlier post was to ensure that, after the election, you can be reminded of your certainties and expectations after he turns out to maybe not be so steadfast in those beliefs as you believe now.

Sorry to disagree. I studied the Constitution a long time ago and that part hasn’t changed. There has been no Article 5 Convention by We the People to change it! We have however, since then been inundated with Harvard and other “Elites” that try to shove the Living Constitution doctrine down our throats. So called “experts” exist everywhere. i don’t let them do my thinking for me. Vattel says both parents must be citizens and the child must be born on American soil. That was the intent of the Framers. It was the intent of this country 50 years ago. The Constitution hasn’t changed, only the progressive Marxists have succeeded in warping people’s minds. Trump is a Natural Born Citizen, Cruz is NOT. if you wish to further destroy the Constitution and move further away from original intent then vote for Cruz. You will be destroying that which you profess to protect.

I agree with everything you said...except that Trump is the NOT the man to do it. Trump will certainly do nothing about Common Core. The constitutional answer would be to return the issues of education to the state and local levels. As a big government Republican, Trump will never concede to that. Remember, he just gave an interview where he said federal land should NOT be turned over to the states. He is a progressive in every way. States’ rights? Not in his hand book.

I have never heard Trump refer once to the Constitution. Never. How can you expect him to run an administration that holds tightly to those principles?

You have high expectations for Trump. Unfortunately, his past will tell you that he cannot be trusted to do any of these conservative actions you wish for. Again, I am on your side as far as the issues are concerned. But Trump is a loose cannon, a populist who will say anything to get elected. We will just have to agree to disagree. No offense intended at all.

Well I HAVE heard Trump talk about the Constitution and that under his administration we would as a country be BACK IN THE CONSTITUTION.
He also WILL do something about Common Core. He detests it as do I. He has spoken of it often.
As far as Federal Land is concerned, I am sure he is speaking of national Parks. The thing to do is educate him. He is a quick study and learns incredibly fast.
I do NOT under any circumstances want another “politician” for President. We need to try someone who is out of the Washington CARTEL. We need someone who is not OWNED by them. Trump stands alone on that aspect.
As I do not believe the Conservative Label has gained the American People one damn thing for the last many years, I am willing to try a Wild card that just might turn out to be an Ace.

No offense taken. We shall see.

Molly, are you really going to play that infantile game? You answered my question with a question. But because my position is the superior one, I’ll answer it.

Between the 2009 and 2013 gubernatorial races in Virginia, I didn’t “log” the number of hours I worked for the McConnell and Cuccinelli campaigns, but the number of hours exceeded 10.

Now... gather both your brain cells.. and focus carefully.. and tell ME what were the redeeming qualities of Terry McAuliffe that justified Trump’s donating $25,000 to his campaign.
