In a rapidly intensifying back-and-forth between Fox News Channel and the campaign of Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, the network Tuesday night accused Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski of threatening FNC host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

In a statement, a Fox News spokesperson said "in a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a 'rough couple of days after that last debate' and he 'would hate to have her go through that again.' Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can't give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees."

From the article:

Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again.’

Maybe he never said that at all. But if he did, does anybody know what he meant by “a rough couple of days?” That would seem to be the crux of this story.

Most liberals think Fox News is conservative. I think it hires conservatives and liberals. Other networks pretty much just higher liberals. It’s strange to see a Republican picking a fight with Fox News. Why not CBS, CNN, NPR?

I would expect a politician to complain to or about a network, and not name names publicly. Putting the focus on an individual reporter does not seem right. It seems like an effort to intimidate. If it works, it’s easy to send the message to another reporter “cooperate or you’re next.”

I'll bet Megyn had blood coming from her eyes, ears... wherever.... Man. Purse fight!

She's getting a bit long-in-the-tooth for it to come from elsewhere (45+)

I need lots more popcorn to get through all this... I don't remember a more exciting election...EVER :-)

Thank God I lived long enough to see this!

"she has violated some very basic journalistic fundamentals in my opinion"

Now, so has Ailes and the entire organization. Even Britt Hume tweeted a caricature of Trump as a baby crying the the crib because Kelly was going to hurt him.

Fair and Balanced? It's the most aggressive and blatant display of bias I have ever seen by any news outlet, ever.

They will never have Trump on any of their shows again, I'm sure. Now they can go full throttle, anti=Trump all the time.

But they also have lost millions of viewers, across the board on all shows. They will be financially damaged by this and Rupert Murdock will NOT be happy.

That was actually after her harangue, if you noticed...
That opening probably set the stage for her fall...She showed herself to be a shallow, spiteful woman during and after that...

Fox will do fine. Every single one of you will watch the debate if Trump isn’t there, just to see how he’s treated by the moderators and the other candidates in his absence.

And you know you will. You won’t be able to resist. And so will Trump.

Ironically, this could be the event that will take Trump down, the one where he didn’t even appear. He is going to end up looking like the spoiled little child who takes the ball home when the game isn’t going his way, and right before Iowa votes, and all because he couldn’t handle being questioned by Megyn.

My bet is that now Fox will demand an apology before letting him back in, and you all know they won’t get one. His fate is sealed, and he did it to himself.

(Now I don’t really know how much I believe of the above, some of it, maybe most of it, but I tossed it in to bring some of you back to reality. Trump really isn’t invincible, you know. He did file for bankruptcy on four different occasions after all. Everything he does doesn’t always work out.)

“I would expect a politician to complain to or about a network, and not name names publicly”

People should be held accountable.

Fox doesn’t get to dictate the rules.

They sound arrogant. They lost it.

because there is some kind of secret unholy alliance between fox news and the rnc to the effect of “anyone but trump (and cruz)”?

“Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?

Sounds like a question to me.”

Trump already knocked that one out of the park by playing the “Bill Clinton Sexual Abuser” card.

She showed herself to be a shallow, spiteful woman

The shrew had the temerity to (gasp!) quote Trump's own words back at him and ask for comment.

I’m actually enjoyed watching CNN trash Faux earlier.

CNN treated Palin fairly when she announced her endorsement. I was shocked. Trump goes on MSNBC Morning Joe all the time without a problem. Fox is marginalizing itself here needlessly. Trump is getting ready to drop Fox permanently, IMO.

Well, since he was reportedly in an affair with her, I suppose he felt he had to come to her defense.

Omg! 70% of Fox viewers?!

No, 70% of those participating in the poll, it isn't scientific by any means, but those results are based on those online visitors who cast their vote, and there appears to be a filter to prevent multiple votes from being cast (probably based on IP address), here are the latest screen results as of 12:23 AM Eastern Time:

No 73.2% (2,382 votes)

Yes 26.8% (872 votes)

Based on that alone, I would say that Rupert Murdoch is probably having someone change his Depends(c) for him tonight.

Trump needs to hit em where it counts. Ratings. It is not a news network anymore. A full blown organ of the state.

"but Don Lemon may host it"

It pains me to concede it, but they have been doing a good job of covering the GOP primaries. I guess it's because they don't care WHO wins and they are disinterested in influencing the outcome.

Their coverage tonight was superb.

They were all laughing at the Republican Strategist lady who was standing up for journalistic integrity and the voters of Iowa. She was soooo serious.
