There were all sorts of debate controversies back in 1980. Remember when Reagan had the “I paid for this microphone” moment? Then you have the general election where Carter wouldn’t debate if John Anderson was included. I also remember John Anderson doing his own “town hall” debate while Carter and Reagan did finally meet.
I would think it is true for this election. Win Iowa AND New Hampshire and the others start withering quickly.
He wants a fair shot at this not this backstabbing BS the media is trying to do but he is outsmarting them in their evil ways. I applaud him for that. Dollars to Doughnuts if your candidate Hilary was taking this kind of incoming heat from the media with gotcha questions she’d be backing out of debates as well and she may see how Trump handles this and she may try the same strategy, but for her to do it, it will fail as she is guilty as charged.

I am born again Christian with an above average knowledge of politics. Been republican since a child while my family had been democratic since reconstruction, but I don’t have any idea who tony perkins is and really do not care. I do not listen to megachurch pastors for political endorsements. God wouldn’t be a republican, even though satan surely would be a democrat.
I highly doubt Trump is really serious about not showing. IMO, he’s probably doing this to generate more drama....claiming he’s not gonna show, he’s not gonna show, he’s not gonna show....then at the last minute, Oh I decided to go. Then more people will watch to watch the drama unfold and it’ll be a typical nothing burger of him just repeating his same generic catch phrases and lines. Yawn....

Sorry but I'm backing a conservative for the nomination, Ted Cruz. If he doesn't get the nomination then I won't vote for president in November. I'm not pulling the lever for a moderate-of-the-year yet again just because he's supposedly "electable".
