To what end?

I don’t think Donald knows the day before.

Brilliant, but rudderless.

Brilliant, but rudderless.

It does appear that way. I read an article here on FR from Scott Adams, the guy who created Dilbert. He presented a very good argument that Trump wins by creating a series of win-win scenarios for himself. That on a 2D level, he looks rudderless, but if you expand out to a 3D level, you can see that he puts himself in situations where he comes out the winner regardless of the outcome.

I'm on the fence as to how this ends up working out for Trump. But the blog post by Adams was pretty compelling.

He’s showing that he leads, and that he’s not led.
He’s not beholden to Fox News. He’ll win the debate without even going. And he certainly won’t stand for being set up for a “gotcha”.
The whole point of Trump’s popularity is that he doesn’t play establishment games, which Fox News is part of.
