I never said Cruz was perfect. I've criticized Cruz on a couple of votes. Why set up this strawman? I'll give more respect to you if you don't do that.
The fact of the matter is that Cruz has been weak in words and deeds on immigration in the past, and treating him as some kind of conservative messiah only hurts him all the more when the news comes out about his past support of globalist garbage, his past votes, and his current language.
Cruz's 2013 words in that video are weak. Cruz and Sessions claim that he was simply setting up his poison pill amendments. One can believe what that want about that.
In 2015, during the campaign, Trump's words, numerous times, have been awful on amnesty. Are you even aware of that?

I’m not gonna argue this any more. At least not on this thread. We’ve both heard and rejected pretty much every argument that the other person can make anyways.
I would like to agree that we have the same goals, politic-wise. But I think that the difference is that I’m a cynical bastard more often than not, and so during those times I’m supporting the guy who will have the power to follow through and do it just because of his own ego and to secure his legacy.
I want to like them both, and I want to like people on FR. I like myself better when I think the best of people and am not a cynical bastard. Ain’t easy.
