I already apply the same standards to Cruz, Trump and every other politician. That’s why I like Cruz. He passes all the tests with flying colors beyond any other candidate. When Cruz first ran for the Senate I was very skeptical of a Texas candidate becoming a national standard-bearer for the conservative cause. Sometimes they can be tone-deaf to the rest of the country’s sensibilities. But within a year or two he totally won me over. He doesn’t seem like a regional figure, but like a true national leader for the country who speaks with profound eloquence and conviction on all the issues that matter to me.
Hmm. In my case, it went the opposite way. I started by supporting Cruz 100%, and slowly my support degraded until he was moved to my #2 slot.
But I accept that you have differing views and opinions than I do, and probably saw different things than I did. And I saw and appreciated different things than you.
If nothing else, at least we share the same goals, even if we’re pretty much locking horns on the best way to accomplish them, right?
At least I hope that’s the case.
