A group of Indian-Americans has formed a committee to campaign for Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, describing him the best hope for the country.
'Indian-Americans for Trump 2016' -- which was registered as a political action committee on January 21 with the federal election commission -- aims at garnering support of Indian-Americans to have Donald J Trump become the next president of the United States.
In a media release, the PAC said A D Amar, a business professor with Seton Hall University in New Jersey has been elected as its president; while New York-based attorney Anand Ahuja as its vice president.
Eminent Indian-American and Padma Shree awardee Sudhir Parikh of New Jersey has been appointed the chair of fundraising and advisory Committee of Indian-Americans for Trump 2016.
Devendra 'Dave' Makkar, a business owner and community activist of New Jersey has been elected as its treasurer.
The Trump Campaign, which so far has been vocal against PAC culture in the country and has said that he is self-funding the election, did not comment immediately on the formation of the 'Indian American for Donald Trump 2016'.
"This is only the first step. We are on the side of Trump for this election," Amar told PTI in an interview, soon after the announcement was made.
"We believe that Trump would be the nominee of the Republican party and he would be the president on the United States," he said.
Amar, who supported New Jersey Governor Chris Christies, who is also a Republican presidential candidate earlier during his State-level run, said at this moment Trump is the best for the United States and Indian-Americans.
He cited Trump's policies on illegal immigration and economy in particular as the main reasons for the Indian Americans to support him.
"Indian Americans would benefit the most from his policies," Amar said.
"On realising that the agenda of Donald J Trump for President 2016 is focused on reviving the American economy, rightly bringing America on the world stage, defeating terrorism and establishing peace through strength; many Indian-Americans believe that he is the best hope for America and the right candidate to be the next president of the United States," the political action committee said in a statement.
"The officers of the Indian-Americans for Trump 2016 urge all Americans to join in the effort and support Donald Trump in his endeavour to make America great again by electing him the next President of the USA," said Indian-Americans for Trump.
Hindus have been getting slaughtered by the Muslims for hundreds of years; they should understand the threat. They also come here exclusively legally, and generally speaking, are highly educated, hard-working and family oriented. They’re makers, not takers. The ones that vote (meaning they’re here permanently as citizens) probably don’t like the H1-B’s from India much more than the rest of us.
Most excellent marigold hotel magnate.
So is it: American Indians and Indian Americans?
So confusing...
The ones that vote (meaning theyâre here permanently as citizens) probably donât like the H1-Bâs from India much more than the rest of us.>>>> they have been displaced as the rest of us have.
Indians have been fighting against the bloodthirsty cult of islam for a helluva long time. They know the menace as well as we do.
They’re usually the target of derision, they walk funny, talk funny etc. But you know what. They freaking work their assess off, keep to themselves, respect the rule of law, are family and education oriented.
I think some groups within this country that have been here a lot longer can take a few lessons from our Indian friends.
..So is it: American Indians and Indian Americans?
So confusing...
I thought for a while that it was about American Indians.
And I kept waiting for a casino connection till the light flashed on.
A man from India in the UK likes Trump, I met another man from India here who likes Trump. So, yes, they do like him.
Those who come here from India, yes, are most likely very good people, for some reason, one can find a few of them, as Doctors, in the abortion mills and that is no good.
LOL!
So confusing...
I was expecting names like Sitting Bull and Chasing Hawk.
I am a Hindu. I am supporting Mr. Trump for the very reasons stated in this article. I know Radical Islam. Come with me if you have the courage to Calcutta (Kolkatta) India, one of my second homes, and I will show you Islam extremists. I will show you another world you will never forget. They want to enslave every Hindu. They want to kill every Jew. And they want to crucify ever single Christian. Go Trump. I want a strong horse.
They just want him to build their casinos
Yes, and they will kill anyone who gets in their way. As a Muslim imam once stated, “inside the mosques, there are no ‘moderate’ Muslims”...........
Wrong Indians............
Since 7th century to be exact.
Thanks for posting this article.
This doesn’t necessarily mean Trump will get the majority of this group vote. I am sure Trump (like the other candidates) will get vote from just about every ethnic and racial groups.
