What surprised me most about the debate offer was that Cruz’s first choice for moderator was Mark Levin— after all the noise about Levin’s fiancée’s son working in a paid capacity for the Cruz campaign.

Again I ask, if Trump is so assured of winning, why spout off like this?

Because he is a jerk!

Further proof that Cruz only knows how to play checkers.

Technically, it is probably true that Ted Cruz is an “anchor baby” of sorts - an anchor to Canada. But since that option was not exercised, and in fact Ted has declared for US citizenship, it is now a moot point.

I’d still rather a person born on U.S. soil then a person born in a foreign country that the parents were not in the military or diplomat. We do not need to get into the nonsense of having a foreign born President. That will open up all kinds of can of worms. Not worth it especially ending up having Cruz.

Go to his website. Everything is explained in black and white.
He had reputable and intelligent and knowledgeable assistance with experts in their fields, in order to lay out his plans for America’s future.
Senator Jeff Sessions is responsible for Trump’s immigration plan . . and he and Cruz are BFF’s in the Senate, so he must be qualified to put YOUR mind at ease.
Of course, first . . you have to actually READ the plans for yourself rather than listen to the banter of the buffoons who keep writing ‘Trump hasn’t told us his plans’.
Surely you’re smarter than those buffoons, Mastador1.

Okay, this is my definition of Hell:

Trump and Joe “The Genius” Biden (somehow) both end up the nominees. Then, I have to listen to both of them tag-team me with goofy crap like this for 6 months.

Each accompanied with millions of cheerleaders.

6 months of dying for it to be over and, at the same time, dreading when it is.

[Shudder]

If Cruz can't take a little good natured ribbing how is he going to deal with the bad guys of the world.

If Cruz Trump can't take a little good natured ribbing how is he going to deal with the bad guys of the world.

He added: I think thats one of the reasons hes a nervous wreck. Now theyre saying, I think, his career is over, right? How about this, hes a citizen of Canada and hes a senator from Texas?

This is one of the main reasons I disdain Trump. He's not content with merely trying to win, he tries to completely destroy anyone who stands in the way of his personal ambitions.

Do most FReepers that support Trump really want Ted Cruz's career to be over?

Trump would like to see Cruz's political future destroyed because he is running against him in a primary but says how he gets along fine with people like Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, etc.

Trump is like a very nasty little petulant child.

I thought that was weird because anchor baby means born on US soil to non-citizens who come just to get US citizenship for the kid....

It's the opposite of Ted Cruz. It made no sense.

I think that was the point of the poster and Trump. Trump was calling Cruz an anchor baby of Canada's, not of the U.S. Basically saying Trump's mom went across the border into Canada and had a baby that was made a Canadian citizen.

I think the Canadian stuff is over the top too. But it sure does get under people's skin, I think especially Cruz's. I think Cruz should just get the darned declaratory statement and get it over with. Should have done it three weeks ago.

I’m for Trump but he’s being a bit stupid, saying the Senator from Texas is a Canadian. Come on. Obama is an Indonesian. Hispanic senators can easily become or are citizens of their parents’ countries. Jewish senators could also be Israeli. And who knows how many Senators currently or former have been born elsewhere?

“Technically, it is probably true that Ted Cruz is an “anchor baby”

Anchor baby is a pejorative term for a child born in the U.S. to a foreign national mother who is not lawfully admitted for permanent residence.

Nope. Doesn’t apply to Cruz. Or anyone else born to US citizens overseas.

Yes, and we already have one of those in the White House. Do we really need another one?

Trump was meaning that Cruz would be a Canadian anchor baby. But again, that does not fit. His parents were legally in Canada. He probably didn’t like Cruz’s bit on him last night so this is his attempt to fight back, but it’s weak and stupid, and I’m for Trump.

It makes sense from the standpoint that if Ted is an anchor baby, he is a CANADIAN anchor baby.

Four of Trump’s children are anchor babies, as is he himself. His mother was born in Scotland. His first wife in the Czech Rep. And, his current wife in Slovenia.

For “anchor baby” to be an insult, as oppose to merely a reference to one’s lineage, it refers to a foreign-born mother using birthright citizen of her advantage. As in welfare payments. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with having a mother born in the U.S., or in Scotland, the Czech Rep. or Slovenia.

You can’t get a declaratory statement.

That’s grandstanding.

Unless congress decided to, but they won’t do anything to help Cruz.

I was all for Trump until all this nonsense.

I realized he can’t be trusted at all.

Then I found out about his long time Soros association.

No, I don't. But I also understand the old adage "never lend money to an opponent at the poker table" either. Trump feels like he's got Cruz against the ropes. He's not going to let off until after Iowa.
