Obama administration officials argue that the government hasn't gone far enough.

'The reality is, obviously, we still have millions of kids that are not getting the help and assistance they need,' Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday.

45 dolla for a whole month?

Not nearly enough.

Burney will triple it!

$45 a month per child per family?

That will buy a lot of ramen noodle dinners.

Obama’s solution to child hunger in America.

Makes sense...

Section. 8.

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To provide lunches to all Poor Children during the summer;

and so on and so forth

And then the government will outlaw the many churches and other charity groups who serve lunches during the summers, as it directly competes with their benefits program.

Aren’t there other programs that already do this? How about SNAP, WIC, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families?!

This is nonsense. There is no Constitutional authority for any of it. And you can be sure that those proposing any such program are doing so to protect/increase their power while lining their pockets.

What parent can’t provide lunch for their child? I’d feed my child first and skip lunch. Parents bringing their kids to pick up free lunches better not be overweight. This is insane, taking away basic responsibility from parents to feed their child. Give your child up for adoption if WIC or your own resources can’t provide lunch. Seriously, cook dried beans in a crock pot, add rice, tomatoes, seasonings, boom, kid won’t starve, for $1 a lunch even if he’s big and 15. This is insane.

I saw what happens at the free breakfasts: the parent comes into the cafeteria with their child, they pile up his plate, the kid eats a little and the parent pockets a LOt of food to take out to her car to eat. It’s a JOKE.

I am already up in arms at my daughters because they send their kids to school where they get a (parent paid for) breakfast and lunch

Both of my daughters are well ($) married and have the time to fix a breakfast at home and send off a brown bag or happy feet lunch box (or WHOEVER is the latest marketing ploy)

But it's easier to punch in numbers from your computer, load up their "card" and forget about it

MY mother slipped an occasional note in my brown bag (everybody had brown bags in the 50's ... only a few lunchboxes)

It was nice to see something written by Ma.

Oh sure it starts with 12 billion dollars for lunch.
Bernie will see your 12 and raise you 24 to include dinner.
Can’t perform without a good breakfast so how about another 10 for some whole grains? Wash it down with 20 billion for water because the tap has lead.
What’s that you say?
We are running out of money for our anti-obesity program?
Anti-obesity needs more money. Quick!
Give us more money.

Really ..?? Why don’t they just invite the kids to the WH for lunch every day. According to the food budget at the WH, they should be able to feed a lot more than a half dozen people on the amount of food they throw away.

And .. some of those state dinners cost a fortune .. which they could spend on these children who need the food.

But .. we can’t do that .. we have to punish the tax payers who are cutting their budgets because 92 million of them do not have a JOB.

Have all the children you want the government will raise them for you. Here in Indianapolis there are schools that actually give the children showers at school and have newly washed clothes available for them to change into when they get to school. Teach them early that other people, read government, will take care of all their needs.

Let’s get the fathers employed so they can pay for their own lunches!

Fathers first; mothers too I suppose; but let’s create conditions for private industry to grow to facilitate the required background conditions for financial health within the family so that the mothers who do want take care of their infants and toddlers can - many do! despite the feminist propaganda out there to the contrary.

Bring back manufacturing jobs to American cities! We have the technology today for clean manufacturing processes.

The manufacturing jobs ought to be in America! We can regulate pollution in this day and age- government can spend the money supporting private industry in creating clean manufacturing processes so the parents have jobs instead of hand outs!!

Families can support themselves and self-respect and self determination will return.

Go Trump!

"For all those who revel in the fact that there are 374 days until President Obama finally gets the hell out of the White House, a cautionary note: Obama and his colleagues are rigging the bureaucracy so that their unique brand of "hope and change" extends far beyond their tenure."
