Cruz and Levin are not libs at heart. And they’re a LOT different from all those Fox News talking heads you mention. Cruz DID follow through on being a constitutional conservative. Show me where he turned into a liberal.

Again, if you think “isolationism” is conservative, it’s not. Conservatism means that Americans are free to trade with the rest of the world and are not locked out by the iron curtain of protectionism.

I guess you’re the idiot for supporting Boehner, Ryan, McConnell, and Cantor.

Save your stabs at intelligence for someone who gives a shit what you think.

I have no idea why everyone is getting their panties in a twist over this.

Well this is an imputation of power to him. It was given for some reason. Maybe he threatens to blackmail, or it might be a GOOD reason. But things don’t happen sans reason. We might not even know the full story till he’s out and people start telling tales.

I see a way to reconcile these statements.

Present both mailings, both envelopes and content, prior to patting yourselves on the back.

Democrats don't vote for Republicans in general elections. It's never going to happen, so don't base your candidate choice on that fantasy.

Once again you are showing your complete lack of historical knowledge... Reagan got a huge amount of crossover vote.

FYI
Regarding Cruz and those mailers that the media has already seized upon...

This is what happens when you challenge the ethanol lobby.
The Cruz camp modeled the mailer in question on the Iowa GOP’s own 2014 mailer. Get-out-the-vote efforts aren’t always easy and sometimes reaching certain people who need to be reached is hard, especially in close races. Iowa’s Secretary of State (and Trump and ethanol mandate-supporter) Paul Pate attacked Cruz over it. Matt Schultz, former Iowa Secretary of State and Cruz’s Iowa State Chairman hit back at Pate, saying that such mailers designed specifically for people who don’t often vote are “routine”. (It’s all based on “The Victory Lab”, a book written in 2013 about the psychology of voting. Sometimes aggressive methods based on publicly available information move people. It doesn’t go out to everyone, it goes out to a certain small, subset of people who do not vote.
It works. Instead of “rock the vote”, it’s “nudge the vote”.)

The Iowa Republican establishment has a problem with Cruz doing it because of....ethanol. Cruz opposes the mandates and he stood on stage this past Thursday, looked the establishment ethanol lobby in square in the eye, and said “no more mandates”. He’s been saying it all primary cycle. They hate him for this. The Governor of Iowa, Terry Branstad condemns Cruz because of it. Branstad’s son is the head of an ethanol lobbyist group that has been stalking Cruz all over Iowa protesting him over it. They even thought about dressing as giant corn cobs and running after him. The reason that this mailer nontroversy wasn’t a story back in 2014 when the Iowa Republican establishment did it is because this time around they’re dealing with a candidate who has consistently said he will end their ethanol subsidies and they’re terrified of him so he must be defeated. They’ll partner with Trump (who supported an increase in the ethanol mandate) to do it, too.

Just like in the “Godfather”, you don’t ever take sides against the ethanol lobby.

Why don’t we stick to talking about principles and policies and not about campaign marketing? Campaign marketing is a boring topic that few of us are experts in and which only affects our lives in a very minor way for about 2 days every other year.

“It just seems like many Trump supporters have a myopic focus on isolationism. Unless they can find a candidate who says even nastier things about foreigners and makes them even bigger scapegoats for all our problems, they’re not going to switch.”

I am truly happy to see a Raphael Eduardo Hartpence supporter play the NWO card. Truly happy.

You are the one wailing that way; I am not.

I am saying show me the evidence. You are projecting. I think you have the weakness, even before you show the evidence.

Those days are over. The modern Democrat is extremely partisan and loyal to their party brand beyond all reason.

Trump brings a can-do attitude.

Cruz brings a you-oughtta-do attitude.

Guess which one gets more followers.

That’s because you Cruzies keep putting out the same tired junk that absolutely does not mean anything now. Old crap from years ago is big deal. Make America Safe is priority.

Cruz has done things recently that should cause him to suspend his taxpayer vacation.
