After reading the article I can see how this could happen even to a regular church goer who found themselves in a strange church.

I don't think I have ever been in a church where communion is before the offering.

The church of my childhood had silver offering plates. Back in those days, I don't think too many churches had to worry that someone would take out instead of putting in. Times change.

I've yet to be in a church where you stand in line for your offering and have communion passed down the aisles. Trump was in an environment that was a total mystery to him and it showed.
