“Vote for anyone but Cruz,†declared the much-vaunted Iowa establishment governor, Terry Branstad. Between Trump, the establishment, and Fox News, they threw everything they had at him in the months preceding the 2016 Iowa Caucus.
We heard it all: birtherism, ethanol, Goldman Sachs loans, the Palin endorsement, Cruz supposedly losing every debate, the Santorum/Huckabee sniping, the entire establishment ganging up to defeat him. Then we were told that even if Cruz wins Iowa, a victory would only occur in the event of low turnout. After all, the newbies will all be for Trump. Well, Cruz won with a record turnout, projected to be near 180,000. It also appears that Cruz will break Mike Huckabee’s previous record of the most total votes received by the caucus winner. And he did it in an elevn-person race.

I’m tired of losing because we put up candidates with little appeal outside of the traditional GOP base, which is conservative whites. (of which I’m one)
Seems some people are happy to continue losing elections, smug in their opinion of themselves, as the country burns.
Silly, maybe. But it's just plain stupid to claim that Cruz can't beat Hillary!, or whoever the dems nominate, at this time. Lots of stupidity going on out there.

Cruz is not showing any sign of decline, Trump owns the decline line for the foreseeable future.
He declined all day yesterday.
Nope. The RCP average today shows Rubio beating Hillary.
We know that will never happen. No way in hell does Rubio beat hilary.
So...what do I want? I suppose a combination of history plus current data. I see history on the side of the Clintons, and against Rubio...and maybe...against Cruz.
I see Trump as sort of outside historical analysis.
I do not believe a today’s numbers are adequate.

Maybe you and Rush are right. Yes, I admit, I am scared of the ruthlessness/corruption of the Clintons. I just see them as winning all the time...08 being an exception. And even then, she came close.

We've not put up a candidate who had appeal to conservative since Ronald Reagan. And he won big time!!

When we run true conservatives we win and win big. Because this is still a Conservative country at heart. But when it comes down to voting for a democrat, or a democrat in drag, why even bother. The end result of a Romney administration would have been obamacare (but called romneycare instead). If I lose no matter what I do why even play?
Now we have the chance to run a true conservative. And we will win big!! (of course the GOPe will lose but those guys can all drop dead for all I care. They've betrayed us far too often)
