Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is lashing out at Marco Rubio and Donald Trump on immigration while facing New Hampshire voters for the first time since his Iowa caucus victory.

Cruz charged that Rubio led the fight for "amnesty" for immigrants in the country illegally. He also said Trump didn't do anything to fight immigration reform as the debate raged on Capitol Hill in 2013.

Appreciate the response. It’s just I would have a lot more confidence in Trump if he been taking the lead on this earlier. There is no doubt that he has singlehandlely changed the playing field this year when it comes to the immigration issue but I’m looking to get a comfort level that he won’t flip on the issue if and when he gets into office.

“Cruz is at 4% and lashing out at who?”

At anyone willing to listen to his fairy tale all about how a poison pill put the big bad bill to sleep, forever, the end.

Trump is far more proven to break his word. Trump has a long record as a whore for the "cheap labor express." Trump has promised to bring the illegals back "rapidly" as legal immigrants.

According to Jeff Sessions, Cruz saved us from the Gang of 8 bill. By comparison, there is no comparison.

Trump, who was not in office? Wow, go figure.

Oh brother. I could care less. If you want every business getting involved with issues then you are not thinking clearly. That would be the worst. What we would have to hear from 100’s of business people every day on various issues. You are smarter then that. Your post has to be sarcasm.

Of course I don't want every business getting involved with issues. I'm not talking about every business, I'm talking about Trump--who (a) is running for President, (b) had toyed with the idea of running for President in 2012 (and earlier cycles as well), and (c) according to reports, was considering his current run for President as far back as 2013.

I think it's completely fair to expect a business magnate who wants to run for President largely on the strength of his immigration position to have shown some leadership (or even some interest) in the issue when it was being debated in Congress, just two years before his Presidential campaign.

Cruz saved us from the Gang of 8 bill. By comparison, there is no comparison.

And he did this by using deceipt (lies) by signaling his support of the legislation in order to get his 'poison pill' amendments passed.

Ends justifies the means according to RedState.

I'm supposed to trust that?

Do you really believe that Trump wasn’t expected to be in the top 5 in Iowa until 4 weeks ago?

Do you really believe that?

Or were you lying?

I have the same fear on immigration with Cruz...as well as on trade.

I, too, think if this keeps up, Rubio will be the nominee who even has Rush snowed (actually I think it’s just that Rush has always had a soft spot in his heart for Rubio and won’t realize how much Rubio has sold out since elected).

“According to Jeff Sessions, Cruz saved us from the Gang of 8 bill. “

Good Lord. Yes Cruz was so effective that the bill passed the senate and was hours from passing in the house when Eric Cantor, one of it’s primary sponsors lost his seat to a tea party candidate who ran against immigration reform specifically.

But don’t let this truth get in the way of a good fish story.

Sorry NYT, Cruz's Goldman Sachs Loan Was Disclosed

[SNIP]

...."If you listen closely, you can hear the liberal media salivating at a chance to launch a multi-pronged attack against this hard core conservative, which would be eaten up by progressives who hate this man with every fiber of their being. This is liberal schadenfreude on display. Yet, is this a serious scandal, or another media misfire akin to Marco Rubio's parking tickets and his fishing boat? For now, outlets, like Reuters, Politico, NBC News, The Guardian, and CBS News, are all running with the narrative that Cruz didn't disclose this loan, except that he did. Phil Kerpen, president of the free market public policy group American Commitment, took to Twitter to offer a fact check.....

First, Cruz did disclose the loan on July 9, 2012; the runoff against then-Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst was on July 31. Now, the Cruz campaign did admit that there was a filing issue with the FEC, but to say this was "undisclosed" isn't accurate. Moreover, this loan was reported in Roll Call on June 3, 2013:"...........

**********************************

Donald Trump is OWNED by Every Bank on Wall Street

"....... at various times Donald Trump has had hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from Citibank and Goldman, some of which have been repaid, some of which were discharged in bankruptcy when Trump's Altantic City casino went belly up. By Trump's own standard, Citibank and Goldman own him, too. But of course, it's much worse than that for Trump. As a twitter user pointed out, according to Trump's most recent financial disclosures, he has hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from virtually every bank on Wall Street. Here is a copy of the form.".....

Trump isn’t in Congress. He’s a private citizen. What was he supposed to do?

I think Cruz plays fast n loose on immigration. He might have been somewhat against immigration before Trump. I doubt Cruz was very anti-immigration when he was running for the senate. He teamed up with Beck to give out stuffed animals to children crossing the border illegally. So he’s trying to have it both ways.

Trump was unequivocally against amnesty and building a border. Cruz waited to see how that went over before he began chiming in.
