The local Barnes and Noble has very few books in it anymore. Literally. If I ever go there (once or twice a year) and I find a book I like I go online and buy a used one for one penny plus $3.99 shipping from Amazon.

The only thing I can think of is eventually you can pick up your merchandise there instead of paying for shipping.

Then used books will no longer be a penny though, of course.
