The Federal Bureau of Investigation said on Tuesday it was joining a criminal investigation of lead-contaminated drinking water in Flint, Michigan, exploring whether laws were broken in a crisis that has captured international attention.

Federal prosecutors in Michigan were working with an investigative team that included the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Inspector General and the EPA's Criminal Investigation Division, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit said.

An FBI spokeswoman said the agency was determining whether federal laws were broken, but declined further comment.

Well, that's one way to keep the FBI off the trail of Hillary's server. Send them all to Flint and let them chase down lead leads.

The US Postal Inspection Service? Seriously??

And while they are inspecting the water pipes, they can look for Jimmy Hoffa’s remains!

US postal service?? why them? What kind of people are in power in Flint that knew the water was poison and let its people drink it for months? Same with the Porter Ranch in cali. I bet you could follow the money in Flint too.

” An FBI spokeswoman said the agency was determining whether federal laws were broken,”

That should be a no-brainer given the ubiquity of federal encroachment into American life. As surely as any decent district attorney could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, any decent investigator will find something illegal.

There used to be a radio, then a TV, show called Truth or Consequences. They once bet a guy he couldn’t leave the studio, cross the street, smoke a cigarette, and come back to the studio without breaking a law. He took the bet and an unopened pack of smokes. When he got back to the studio, the contestant was found to have opened the pack of cigarettes without destroying the federal tax stamp, which broke the law. Of course, tearing up the stamp leaves you with more a bag than a pack of cigarettes so nobody did it, but the law was the law.

In Washington, Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow, Democrats from Michigan, pushed for $600 million in aid, mostly in federal funds, to help Flint replace pipes and provide healthcare.

That's about right. Do you know how much it will cost to replace the pipes? More than what most of those houses are worth.

But lots of demoncraps will be getting the appropriate amount of funds in their back pocket.

Like always.

EPA on the job and fulfilling their mandate.

WHY had the old infrastructure never been updated or brought into the second half of the Twentieth Century? Lead pipes are from perhaps a century ago, or even longer. The water as it was brought into the distribution after treatment was at one time found to be within acceptable limits. At which point did the contamination reach the levels now believed to be “unacceptable” by EPA?

Only reason the FBI is there is to try and find something on Snyder. Do you honestly think the feds are going to go after the minority Dems who created the problem?

Yup. This is an operation to take out Snyder.
Scott Walkerism stops at the Wisconsin border.
Make your state right-to-work and suffer the same fate.

Didn’t they do an analysis of the water from the Flint river before they made the change? Didn’t somebody in Flint know that their pipes were made of lead? Maybe even a democrat?

I seriously doubt Flint is the only community with traces of lead in the water. Lead has been common in metal water pipe systems for decades. I've read that it can even leach out of PVC piping. We use to be able to get a lot of our dietary lead supplement from eating paint chips and breathing gasoline exhaust. That's not so easy anymore.
