Former President Jimmy Carter surprised reporters in London Wednesday by saying he would choose Donald Trump over Ted Cruz to win the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, "which may surprise some of you."
Carter stated that given the choice, "I think I would choose Trump.... Trump has proven already he's completely malleable,â reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
"I don't think he has any fixed (positions) he'd go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right wing policies he'd pursue if he became president."
Still, Carter feels Trump will "fade away" in the general election and said he will support the eventual Democratic nominee.
"Bernie Sanders has had a remarkable showing, particularly among young people," he continued. "In Iowa, he had 85 percent of young people. I don't know what the final result will be. My own personal opinion is that it's very likely Hillary Clinton will still prevail in the Democratic party. Of course, I'm a Democrat and I will support the nominee."
this was posted long ago.. you should really check the threads when you come on late like that,, just sayin
Will there be a Beck/Carter Steel Cage Match?

Donald Trump: Mean-Spirited GOP Won't Win Elections
"Republicans didn't have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians," the billionaire developer says.
The Democrats didn't have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren't mean-spirited about it," Trump says. "They didn't know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind."
Romney's solution of "self deportation" for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.
"He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. "It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country."
The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy "to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country," Trump says.
I searched.
The other posts are for different articles on the Jimmy Carter endorsement.
Oh, by all means, let’s all let Jimmy Carter influence who we support now.
KGB Putin is pulling for Trump too, as are most if not all of the FR Putinistas (naturally).
Yeah, Palin alluded to this malleability the other day when she said that Trump should've shown more of his "conservative side" in Iowa.
Different source - hard to read with all those random @*# marks all over it.
I add more to this thread to drive home the point.
That’s exactly why you have Carter and Sanders saying this. Mind games.
It reminds me of Fox's ?news loop? where the same stories get regurgitated every ten minutes.
Some might just prefer this sort of thing doesn't get much attention. From their perspective, I can understand that. Lol!
Jimmy Carter never met a dictator, a tyrannt, a firebrand strong man he didn’t love.
Trump has been making similar noises about Putin and Kim Jung-Un.
