CNN has accused the campaign of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz of making false statements about the network's reporting on the campaign of GOP rival Ben Carson. "Senator Cruz's claims about CNN are false," the network said in a statement Wednesday evening. "At no point did the network indicate Dr. Carson would suspend his campaign."
The network's reporting-that Carson would make a trip to Florida before resuming his campaign-came as voters in Iowa were preparing to make the first solid votes of the 2016 campaign. CNN's statement said "Dr. Carson's staff informed CNN that he would return home to take a 'deep breath' before resuming his activities on the trail. That information was reported accurately by CNN across TV and digital."

Cruz sent out a message to 1500 precinct captains saying Carson was out, to reach out to Carson supporters and tell them to vote Cruz, a guy who would be in for the long haul.
O’Reilly tonight tore Cruz’s story into little pieces. He lied because entrance polls told him he would lose.
Like Obama, I have the feeling that his mother kept telling him that he was "brilliant" and "special", but never really corrected him/taught him how to behave.
He’s coming off as a weasel, man. I liked him. Then the last minute dirty tricks weren’t okay, we’re hiring someone to be trustworthy. His supporters and I don’t seem to get along very well. Lots of name-calling, in lieu of argument. According to Cruz supporters I’m a retarded ape and such. Kind of silly right? I don’t return the favor because it’s a sign the argument has been lost.

The only reason anyone would find this brouhaha reason to switch from Cruz is that they are believing the CNN/Trump/ lies.
And you are repeating them here. NO lies were told, except perhaps by CNN, by omission. Everything that happened after that cascaded from CNN’s irresponsible story.
In truth, it is Carson’s and Carson’s staff’s inexperience that caused all this. No serious politician of any party would announce to Iowans and the world that he was not going to continue to New Hampshire, not going to South Carolina, but was going back to Florida for a change of clothes.
I don’t know about EVERY TV anchor, but I sure have heard a raft of them say that they took this as a tacit withdrawal from the race. No one can fault the Cruz team for reporting this news as it was reported ON THE NEWS channels.
And that is all they did. By the way, there is no way to know if any Carson votes were lost to him as a result of this, or if he did lose votes, where they went. They could just as easily have gone to Rubio or even STrump.
So get down off you high horse. This spew is nothing but a load of bovine excrement.

came off to me as fake.
This carson deal has brought out the absolute worst of the cruz supporters.

Ill end with this question for cruz supporters. Imagine trumps people
told cruz supporters 5 min before the caucus that cruz was dropping out.

I can honestly say that before the debates got rolling I was prepared to love Ted and probably said so on many posts. Then I watched the debates and his spacing style is just phoney sounding. I’m surprised there are lots of people who watch him speak and connect with him. He sounds like a preacher and it’s just out of step with the times. Family values crap, sick of it. Neo con wars, sick of them. Just build the damn wall and Trump the Chinese in trade. Bring back the damn jobs. Ted doesn’t even mention manufacturing does he? I hope so.

Why do you refuse to accept the factual truth, when there is proof that the Cruz team did this AND Ted even gave a pathetic, 1/2 hearted apology to Ben?
The stadium doesn’t hold 12,000 and the reporter was there throughout the event. Trump lied, exaggerated, fibbed. Whatever.
This whole story is process intrigue, just short of naval gazing.
Very few people are going to change their votes over process.
That’s not even what the average voter is hearing. The average voter (not FR readers) is hearing “nasty cat fight.” Both Cruz and Trump are going to be hurt by this and both are better served looking forward.

And that is why it’s not to Trump’s advantage to be up tonight tweeting links to BOR and Rove.

Oh I totally agree. I’ve been hard on Trump like crazy over some of the insulting. But I still love him. I’ve never heard a major candidate talk about immigration like this, it;s great. He’s already doing great things for the country by having these things talked about finally. That’s a cultural shift, and people make fools out of themselves when they call him stupid. Has Ted Cruz blown the lid of political correctness lately?

yeah ok buddy.. it’s Carson’s fault that Cruz listened to a “hint” by CNN and ran to steal his votes without even bothering to call Carson .. Carson said Cruz or his people could have been in contact with him in seconds if they had wanted to.. they weren’t going to go near a phone to call Carson after they got the “hint”,, and now everybody knows why
