Ben Carson slashes staff as funds dry up
The Washington Post ^ | 2/4/16 | Robert Costa

CONCORD, N.H. -- Ben Carson, the famed neurosurgeon whose bid for the Republican presidential nomination has struggled to keep pace with rivals, will cut more than 50 staff positions on Thursday as part of an overhaul and downsizing of his entire campaign.

Salaries are being significantly reduced. Carson's traveling entourage will shrink to only a handful of advisers. And instead of flying on private jets, Carson may soon return to flying on commercial flights.

I hope Ted Cruz doesn’t take note of this. Some idiots will accuse him of voter fraud.

Yeah. And he might be accused of committing politics again!

The whole thing was a book tour paid by campaign contributions.

I really do like Ben Carson and would have considered him too as a potential nominee, but Ted Cruz is my first pick.
Some of the degrading comments that Donald Trump said about him were terrible!! Child molester?

Everyone knew this was coming at some point. Ben Carson has an incredible story of achievement and success, but he was never presidential material. If he was interested in politics, he should have run for Senate in Michigan or Maryland. Hopefully he still will. This is the curse of the GOP. It has politically attractive, successful, smart (in Carson’s case, brilliant) potential candidates who could really contribute to the conservative side of the debate. But they all want to shoot for the moon and run for president rather than a prominent but lower office like Senator or Governor.

... All Ted Cruz’s fault :)
Carson had his team captains at every precinct.. Duh.
Carson exceeded his poll numbers.
On Sunday one day before caucus - Sam Pem announced he was leaving Carson and moving to Cruz (had raised about $4 million for Carson).
On Monday day of caucus - every single person in NH Carson Super Pac - quit and moved to Cruz campaign.
Carson is last in Realclear average.
Trumpees are using this for propaganda. Plain and simple. Following the lead of your hero who damaged Carson in November when losing polls to him.

Wondering now if they are recycling older news. (Wapo)

It was a simple keystroke error on my part. Now corrected.

Watch CNN now brag that THEY broke the story.

IMHO opinion they did. Carson admitted to planning on heading to floriduh. Now the excuse is he needed clean clothes. Really, let's talk about lying Politicians! You fly 1200 miles out of your way for a set of clothes?

Come on people wake up. He knew if he didn't do extremely well in Iowa with his staff quitting and his money drying up he was done.

He got cold feet and took the opportunity to stay in the public's eye a few more days. He also so an opportunity to Stick it to Cruz whom his Staff in N.H. had baled on him for.

This has been going on for months with Carson’s campaign but I guess he now has a scape goat with Cruz. It was HIS campaign that said he wasn’t going to NH or SC It was CNN that reported it It was HIS website that had zero events scheduled for either place It was HIS employees that left for Cruz’s camp

Yup.

And Carson went after only a SINGLE Cruz staffer 'bout passing on the above.

Whereas, as Rush pointed out yesterday, MULTIPLE Rubio staffers were sharing the same info.

Yet (guestimating) 99% of FR posters targeting Cruz about this, along w/99% of the liberal media, haven't uttered a single negative word toward Rubio or his staffers on this.

My, my, my. Such selective "outrage."

Which shows you that if the issue itself was sticking in people's moral craw, they would be aiming their provocation at BOTH Rubio & Cruz.

But they haven't.

Which actually shows their so-called moral indignation 'bout all this is simply a cover as a thinly disguised attempt to go after the front-runner.

That's called exploitation. (And it isn't very "moral" I might add). It's rather crass.

People should just 'fess up to such exploitive crassness. ('Cause we're on to you)

I stand corrected. This does link to today’s date for publication. Apologies offered as I was certain when I first read the post that it included a date to January.

I got told I was going into the gutter and being sleazy on another thread for saying that I thought it was funny Palin was going after Ted pretty viciously on Facebook but hadn’t made a peep about Rubio

Great points.

Putting ‘all’ in the to: box doesn’t work. I with is did because I have so much wisdom and smarts to impart, and putting ‘all’ in the box would make it much simpler.

Re:”A wonderful man perhaps,”

Perhaps.
It is odd how he directs his anger at Ted Cruz like we have never seen over this coordinated smear attacking Ted Cruz, yet is silent on Rubio for doing the same thing.
But his anger never reached this level when trump DESTROYED him by making him out like a child molester and all other vicious innuendo. Seems like that would have set him off in a manner far beyond what we are seeing here.
Let’s look at the facts, after those ad hominem attacks Carson never recovered in the polls and his fund raising dried up, his people began shifting to Cruz’s campaign and now this?
If Carson was in control of what HIS TEAM let out this would never have happened.
Methinks Ben owes Ted an apology.
