Trump, sons plot Cabinet posts they'll take as presidency gets 'very real'
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/3/16 | Paul Bedard

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is already looking ahead to forming his top White House team and is considering one of his sons as the head of the Interior Department.

In an interview with Petersen's Hunting, he offered both his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, as the cabinet secretary because they are hunters and anglers and members of key conservation and Second Amendment groups.

In the interview with editor Mike Schoby, Trump said that "ideally" he wants an outdoorsman to run the agency that manages federal land.

"Ideally yes, they'd be better at it," said Trump.

One of my main questions has been, "Who are these great people that Trump knows?"

ok.

But, this caught my attention:

"In the interview, Trump also said he would end gun free zones around military bases and local schools even if he has to "override the states" with federal laws."

Uh, this is debatable. Not middle school spit balls, please. Debate.

OKAY-—with this premature sign of nepotism, I think i know Trump a little better. And I don’t like it. I have seen one or both of his sons proudly standing over an elephant they’d slaughtered. Not Okay by me, in fact, disgusting. If he persists in this, his sons being what they are and may intend to continue being, he may have lost my vote.

He can’t do it. After Kennedy made his brother Attorney GenerL Congress passed a law against nepotism.

What’s your position on state’s rights? Should they be overridden by the Federal government? No middle school caliber arguments please

Yes and federal law as of 1967 forbids appointing a family member to any post which one administers. For a president’s kin that puts any federal executive branch job off limits during their term.

There is the problem. The states let the feds weasel in by accepting federal grants and funding and let the feds call the shots.

Untill states get over their addiction to federal “free” money, the problem goes on.

Thanks, I notified the mods about it a couple of minutes after I posted. The other thread didn’t have the comma in the title that is in the source so search didn’t find Trump, sons... when I searched.

Damn that pesky 10th Amendment anyway. Who needs it?

oh, it wasn’t the gun zones, it was the “over-ride the states” that was debatable. Philly public school teachers are allowed to carry, or they were allowed when my bro substituted a while back.
