We struck military targets, we weren’t out to bomb every structure in a town. I guess we got weary of it in Japan, with the carpet fire bombing and 2 nukes to bring it to an end. The Brits believed in total war, burning cities to the ground, flooding them, and what ever it took to destroy the public moral. ISIS doesn’t have industrial cities, just a captured populace that they use as a shield. Carpet bomb them and you take out everyone whether they are ISIS or not. We are more humane for the most part, even though a few would agree to do it the Brit/Russian way.
The fact we’re the only country that dropped nukes kind of makes those words seem silly.
In war, you do what you have to do to win. We tried the “Hearts and Minds” thing in Vietnam, it didn’t work.
