Trump on Cruz feud: 'I don't care about that anymore'
CNN ^ | February 4, 2016 | MJ Lee

The day after accusing Ted Cruz of winning the Iowa caucuses unfairly and asking for a rematch in the state, Donald Trump says he's now over it.

"I'm so much into this, into New Hampshire, that I just — I don't care about that anymore," Trump said in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper in Manchester, just five days out from next Tuesday's primary contest here. "This is the place I'm focused on now."

These comments, made at Theo's, a popular local pizza joint that serves up specialty Italian and Greek dishes, were in stark contrast to a tirade of angry tweets Trump sent out the day before, where he charged that the Texas senator had committed "fraud" in Iowa and called for a "new election."

The controversy started when CNN reported Monday night that Carson would go home to Florida following the Iowa caucuses instead of flying directly to the early voting states New Hampshire and South Carolina. The network added that he planned to stay in the race.

Some Cruz allies shared that news widely on the night of the caucuses, including to Carson supporters, but did not include the part about Carson remaining in the race.

Hey, you just spammed me with this on another thread. And I replied:

Sounds like Trump listened to the smart and sexy Andrea Tantarros on Outnumbered today. His statement sounds like she wrote it.

The refreshing thing about Trump is that he says what is on his mind regardless of the consequences. Then he moves on. This drives the pundits crazy, but I like it. There is nothing that irritates me more than the typical calculating politician who does nothing but regurgitate carefully calculated spin. Everything Ted says lately sounds like a hokey script somebody wrote for him. I give him credit for being able to do it without a teleprompter, but his delivery would be laughable if it weren’t so irritating.

Trump don’t need to say anymore. The whole country was watching Cruz’s Goldman Sachs style morals and ethics.

Cruz has pretty much been exposed by his own lack of ethics.

Trump on Cruz feud: 'I don't care about that anymore'

Good. My two cents for Trump and Cruz:

Absolutely no more personal fighting with each other. Fight on platforms and issues, absolutely! Be Presidential, be 'as if' I'm at a state dinner. Be yourself, but, well, you get the drift. Don't Give the Media any more Sound and Video clips of the petty stuff. Sure you get media time, but then they use it to tear you down.

Make them focus on the Issues you're talking about, otherwise they focus on Tweets, cuss words and petty personal arguments. If those are a minimum or none, they have to focus on the 'Presidential' issues you are discussing. Be yourself but don't get manipulated by the media to, "Hey, Let's you and him fight."

We want you to fight Hillary in the General. Be Presidential now, be above the manipulation, be above the petty stuff. Sure, you personally want to respond to stuff, I get that, but Presidential is a different level. Your attitude is, "I'm Presidential and a good example too."

Be the Best President You Can Be - Now. Almost to the point where you don't discuss anything that's Not an issue. There are plenty as you know, don't waste time on anything else. "I only talk about issues." Period. The people will fall in love with that. Strength on the Issues. Yeah!

No one believes that except you and a few of the more illiterate Trump supporters.

Cruz won fair and square.

It hurt.

Trump imploded. Trump’s numbers fell. Trump thought about it.

Trump decided to drop it.

I played a lot of golf with a half Italian and half Polish ancestry American. He was in our regular foursome every Sunday morning. Very nice person and a good golfer, but had an erratic temper. One time he hit a bad shot, and then threw that club as hard as he could. Funny thing was it got stuck in a very tall tree. There was no way we could retrieve it. Another time he hit a bad chip, and the slammed his golf bag with that club. The club head broke off. Later on he pulls out another club from the bag to use. You guessed it, it was bent! But like I said, he was a nice person and we loved playing golf with him.

Did you see the Preview of Trump’s AC 360 Interview on Don Lemon tonight? Trump was very effective, and the Folks at the Diner seemed receptive to his message. He also explained his Not Single Payer healthcare plan.

Cruz has been exposed so there’s no use to talk about it anymore. Trump is smarter than all these career politicians combined and after NH the momentum will be back on his side.

I wonder. Sometimes Trump can control himself. More often he cannot.

Neither he nor that crazy Ben Carson have the stability to be President.

How could Carson forget who the person was who viciously attacked him when he was riding high. Trump literally drove Carson out of contention with his attacks. It was pretty bad. Now Carson has a hissy fit about Ted Cruz. Go figure.

Hate to say it but Trump played this brilliantly. Cruz’ victory in Iowa is now totally tainted. This was the focus the day after. While Cruz should have rolled into New Hampshire with his head up, instead he went there with his tail between his legs.

He has spent his time there dealing with the Carson tweets and defending himself against Trump attacks.

Nailed it! Trump’s main purpose was to act like he was vary angry, which attracted media attention, and then Trump went on and on about the morals and ethics of the UNtrusTED. The country is now fully aware of the unscrupulous UNtrusTED.

Trump you magnificent bastard!
