I lost count of all the times “W” was accused of things he didn’t say or do and he just kept quiet! I was furious with President Bush for not taking up for himself. Now we have two non-politician’s defending themselves and its crying. Can’t win.

Free trade is a basic aspect of liberty. The right to free exchange is inextricably linked to the concept of individual sovereignty. The state has no moral right to interfere in the value exchanges of individuals or groups of individuals. None.

You assume wrong, about me and Mises. In Human Action Ludwig Von Mises states that open borders is a suicidal policy in the face of Nazi aggression. The same applies to islamist aggression.
Mises was a free trader, but no one is right about everything. From the point of view of the American worker completely free trade is economic suicide, destined to drive American wages down to the impoverished global average. It also allows our enemies to acquire the techniques to manufacture our vital military technology, all of which tends to have civilian uses. Offshoring is both economic and high treason.
Open border and free trade are quite different things.
The citizens of a nation-state has the right to determine who may and may not enter. There is no right to enter any sovereign country. Those who do so in violation of the law - PARTICULARLY when there is an expansive welfare state - violate the rights of the nation’s citizens.
But when a nation-state restricts trade it restricts the rights of its own citizens to freely interact with others.
Big difference.

Restricting immigration and restricting trade both limit the rights of citizens to freely interact with others. If we can restrict the import of low wage Chinese workers why not apply the same to the low cost goods that have wiped out the US manufacturing base?
