Think of this: The FBI and the OSP brought out armies of men to make an example of the people who settled The West; men who are such cowards they refuse to identify themselves, and doublecross people because they think they are above them in society.
Yet every day foreigners flood across our borders, armed and violent, take up residence on our land, demand public services that cost us money, and do violence to our laws and Republic.
What does the Oh-So-Law-Abiding FBI do about that?
Runs guns to them. Takes a hands off attitude, because *gasp* we couldn’t be mean to people of another country. Tens of millions of armed aliens in our country, and do they get shot? No. If they put half the effort on the border that they did to the Bundy protest, there would be 10 dead every day in Arizona.
So they only attack the people they supposedly work for.
Had this been 1770 the outcome would have been far different.
Who are these men to tell us that the land is theirs, like the English aristocrats that we rebelled against?
I can say one thing: I think a President Trump would keep them on mission. He’s as serious as a heart operation about this.
Cruz talks like he wants to do that too. I’d hope he would, and wouldn’t bow to compromising interests. Normal politics has a very siren song.
And frankly... I’d look to see who put them up to this. In a rough parallel to the failed rescue attempt that Jimmy Carter attempted for the American hostages, the FBI might already have advised Barack that this approach is asking for scandal and he might have replied that if this is bleeping scandal let us make the bleeping most of it.
