Marco Rubio is biggest loser. Trump and the governors all have a good night in NH

Saturday night at the GOP debate in New Hampshire belonged to the executives: the governors and the businessman.

Indeed, if Saturday is any indication of what kind of debater Donald Trump can be, then it's safe to say that it really was a mistake for him to skip the Fox News debate before the Iowa caucus. He may very have won it if he had shown this kind of strength and adeptness just days before Iowans went out to vote.

Trump won before the debate even started by the ridiculous introduction moments. Carson didn’t hear his name being called: Cruz slithers by. Rubio walks by like a king. Bush “so stuck on myself” slithers by!!! Carson goes out and the whole time Trump waits his turn. Both Trump & Carson are true gentlemen. We saw absolute jerk politicians and then two classy men on open display.

I certainly disagree with a lot of Christie’s stances on things, but he is a good guy to have in your corner, just the same. He did us a big favor tonight by taking out Bubble Boy.

Agree. Christi might be the right fit for Atty General.

Donald Trump’s handling of the situation when Dr Carson didn’t hear his name being called showed what kind of a man he really is

A confident gentleman, capable of a generous gesture toward a would-be rival.

Is it your take he’s only shooting for second place from here on out?

The plan is to win the South, Florida included, on "NY values" and Christianity as interpreted by Pastor Cruz.

A poor choice, IMO, but their options are somewhat constrained.

True, the Mooselimbs are chopping heads and committing horrible atrocities, all to emulate their role model, Big Mo.

USA needs to figure out the source of Mooselimb hate (some already have that answer).
USA should not lower themselves to respond to Muslims in kind - ie. head chopping.
Waterboarding, and other INTEROGATION techniques, are absolutely required

Krispy earned himself a good cabinet position last night, maybe a seat on one of the NE circuits or even the DC circuit.

One of my daughters thought he was mean to little Marco. I thought he was fab-u-lous.

“There was a another guy there tonight.”

Oh, so cryptic!

Though goaded to attack by Muir, the master debater instead demurred, giving a solid yet generic answer that clearly answered the question without bringing the discussion down to the Twitter-level competence of the so-called amateur.

Just maybe, there was political strategery to the master debater’s method?

Everyone I know can’t stand Cruz with a passion. Sometimes I try to stick up for him, but I think I’m over that now. Go Trump! He did great at the debate!

Which one of these candidates would be played by Paul Giamotti?

That went over my head. Can you explain for those who missed the joke?

Carter was and is a socialist. There is nothing about him that remotely hints at southern gentleman. Like you said we need a fighter and Trump more than fits the bill.

I thought Cruz had the best performance.

Trump was the alpha male on the stage. He made it close, but I thought he lost some people with the waterboarding response. It won’t play well to the moderates he needs to win over. It is interesting to see how an accomplished businessperson can stand up there and dwarf the best and brightest of the political class. They should bring out the billionaires supporting Cruz and Rubio and let them debate Trump directly.

Rubio got hit by a truck with NJ license plates. He’s not getting back up.

The Senators (Rubio, Cruz) are eloquent but lack leadership experience. The governors (Bush, Kasich, Christie) know how to lead but aren’t eloquent.

Ted Cruz was the ONLY one who looked presidential last night. His answers were full of enormous depth, knowledge, sensitivity and wisdom. Trump and Carson were hopelessly out of their depth, giving the kind of answers that a student who never cracked open a book would give on the final exam. The others engaged in pointless, petty food fights with each other that diminished them tremendously. Cruz was far and away the winner of the debate, despite the GOP establishment and FOX News’ relentless effort to marginalize and destroy him after his historic, unprecedented, blow-out win in Iowa. The establishment is terrified of Cruz because he is going to stop the gravy train of fleecing taxpayers to pave the streets of D.C. with gold and they know he is smart enough to do it.

Trump isn’t even capable of having thoughts as complex as the ones Cruz so eloquently expressed last night on every single question.

what you have told us is that the presidential look portrayed by Cruz is obsolete, anachronistic, a bygone vision

The future belongs to the others that are not stuck in the rut you described

Completely disagree. Cruz has an eloquence and directness of speech we haven’t seen since Reagan in a presidential candidate. His defense of the ridiculous, over-the-top Carson smears against him was extremely fair, clear and accurate.

Thank GOD Cruz won’t get liberal voters. If a candidate gets liberal voters, that’s a yuuuge warning sign.
