Peterborough, New Hampshire (CNN)Ted Cruz told a New Hampshire audience Sunday that requiring women to sign up for the draft is "nuts," breaking with the views of several Republican presidential rivals.
Two days before the New Hampshire primary Cruz veered off his stump speech to blast his GOP competitors on the issue, which came up at the ABC debate Saturday. Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie all said or suggested they'd support women being required to enroll in Selective Service and be eligible for the draft, since female service members can now serve in combat roles. Cruz was not asked.
"It was striking that three different people on that stage came out in support of drafting women into combat in the military," Cruz said. "I have to admit, as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was: Are you guys nuts?"

Nuts is just what this country is.
Israel does it.
We are not Israel.
I was shaking my head also.
Israel used to do it. Decided it wasn’t a good idea.
They should be required to sign up for the draft.
And get high and tight haircuts.
Nobody will be drafted.
But the wars of the future will rely heavily on drones and will be centered around computer networks. They will not rely as much on physical strength as the wars of the past.
Nobody is in favor of drafting women to place them on infantry positions.
Personally, women shouldn’t be in combat roles, ie Infantry. However, the only way we are going to get a reasonable push back against this is having women signup for the draft.
Sounds like the libs are having a hissy fit over Cruz saying this.
The only positive that I can see in it, is that muslims believe if they are killed by a woman, that they go to hell.

I have several lib relatives who are screaming about this. These are the same women who bitched that the fire fighter exams needed to be made easier. The same women who wanted to go to West Point or be Rangers. The same women who want to break that glass ceiling and have a women president....doesn’t matter if she is a liar, unqualified. The same women who think everyone is equal...until it’s dangerous. I don’t know in what capacity women would serve if there was a draft. Of course things are not equal. Women are not as strong as men. Women tend to be more emotional than men. Women are not as mechanically inclined as men. What would they do? Cook??
But our Country has already gone off the deep end letting gays openly serve.
Bullshit. It was simply an executive order to put them into combat roles. Another executive order can undo it. Just takes the guts to sign it. That’s all.

Which is the problem. The point of being in the military is to kill and conquer your opponent. As in Iraq and Afghanistan, there is no defined areas of combat, the entire country is a combat area, yet we put women there. If you join the military, it is for combat, expect it and be part of it, or not be allowed to join. There are other areas, ie the peace corps.
The irony about the brouhaha over allowing the draft of women and using them in ground combat is that if the 19th Amendment had been repealed like the similarly idiotic 18th Amendment, the conscription of women for close combat operations would be a total non-issue, babbled about only by inmates in insane asylums along with whether homosexuals of the same sex should be allowed to ‘marry’ each other.
End Selective Service forever.
Women should not be allowed in the combat arms: infantry, armor, field artillery, and special operations. Since the spineless politicians have caved into the feminists and open the doors, then the only way to avoid that catastrophe then to insist that all young residents in the country register for the draft. The equality provisions of the 14th Amendment require it and the courts will decree it.
However, faced with that unintended outcome, the politicians will suddenly decide that the Administration needs to do some more study and then the Congress will draft a law prohibit women from combat arms (in order to protect daughters and granddaughters from the draft), and the President will sign it. Mabus will resign as the Secretary of the Navy, and the Democrats will pretend that they were never thought it was a good idea.
